Jacksonville getting it right.

Yea no reason the beaches can’t be open for exercise, etc as those have already been deemed essential. Sounds like you still can’t bring a cooler of beer and just chill though

This makes me question the decision to open up. Jacksonville is not known for having smart people.

Judge in Walton County shot down the lawsuit filed by the property owners saying they should be able to access their own private property.

They should’ve never been closed in the first place.
As long as people weren’t congregating socially what was the issue?
This was all about wanting to stay out of the headlines with spring breakers bringing back corona to wherever they came from and blaming it on the beach town they “got it” from.

I live just south of Jacksonville and I will let you slide. I think it is great that they are reopening the beaches. I surf so I am ready for sun and surf. The original problem started with spring break happening about the same time Corona quarantine started. No reason why people can't go for a walk or run out here on the beaches.

Been in this area almost 30 years and Jacksonville has stepped its game up in a major way. They used to call it the Bible belt out here and it fit. Over the last 10-15 years Jville has stepped its game up. Alot more cool shite out here now outdoor malls, rooftop restaurants, and its trending more to the Tampa vibe which I like. Lots of jobs and cost of living is still cheap.

considering the group that has the lowest risk of dying from the Rona is people under 30, that group should have never been prohibited from going to the beach. If they get sick so be it. They have the right to assess their own risk and decide if they want to proceed. Hell, they have the right to risk their lives if they so choose. Otherwise, we need to criminalize sky-diving, smoking (anything), swimming, and driving as those all can lead to death.
This nanny state shite about "experts" and bureaucrats determining what is dangerous to the individual citizen is absurd. Its none of their business and they have no right to intervene. It is and has been nothing but a power grab by those individuals making these decisions for us.
