I knew a couple of Canadian baws who played for the SPHL Ice Gators in 2012. They didn't mind it here.
One of them preferred the cocaine here to up north.

Yeah, I guess they didn't drug test their players.

Minor league hockey is a lot of fun. Definitely would love to have the Brass back in New Orleans

Them baws in Louisiana have trouble growing their weed. Ice Gators are mean they eat up all of the seeds.

In the 90s this wasn't that far outside of the norm

It's been almost twenty years since I've heard the name Roger Maxwell! My parents had season tickets with the MS Sea Wolves when I was in middle school. Maxwell used to fight every game and I never saw him lose one. I remember one game against the Ice Gators he skated to their bench stood in front of it and threw off his gloves motioning to "bring it on" and not a single guy moved. He was the worst hockey player on the team but he still got promoted to the next level just to be an enforcer. Bruce Boudreaux was the head coach and I believe he's been a head coach in the NHL.

Played a couple of rec co-ed soccer seasons with Cam and some cops.

Good times. He would bowl people over on the field it was hilarious.

Used to attend Sea Wolves games all the time as a kid. It was awesome, and we used to love watching Maxwell bust some heads. I remember being so pumped when they won the league championship one year, can’t remember which year. And you’re correct, BB has coached in the NHL, not sure if he still does, I know he was just a year or two ago.

Why do you Lake Charles losers keep bringing up the Ice Pirates? They weren't in the ECHL. No one gave a frick about the WPHL.

I was at this game! It was my first hockey game I ever went to. It wasn't the last, but the rest pales in comparison to this game.

The Kingfish game mentioned by Jack Daniel was my first hockey game as well. It was epic! I was hooked immediately!

I caught the Monroe water moccasins vs Shreveport mud bus at the Monroe Civic center.

That's all I got except I bought my son a hockey stick and puck with the moccasins logo on it.

Still have them

The SPHL games were brutal. I tried going to a couple and it was like watching college club hockey. Plus I’d imagine they only got paid like $50 bucks and a ham sandwich.

The hype guy would go down and talk to players in between periods, and I remember he asked one guy a question and his reply was something like - well hopefully we put them away quickly tonight so tomorrow will be a good day at school and work.

I was at the kingfish game where the entire two teams were fighting at once. Even the opposing goalies met at center ice and went after it.

The first Kingfish game I ever went to (was for a bachelor party) they played the IceGators and there were like 5 or 6 fights, and it was completely fricking awesome. Cam Brown (I think) was throwing haymakers, and the only black dude on the ice got booted from the game.
