They might've should have closed the lane but also I feel like the 18-wheeler driver maybe should've had a little more sense.

Yeah

Im not a big gordon fan but this is why those guys exist

The trucker and the guys employer are gonna get sued. You gotta take better steps than that to protect your employees

Why are they working on the lights like that and allowing traffic to pass through directly under them? Is that normal?

They should have closed the lane if they're going to restrict the height requirements of 18 wheelers. That accident was on the workers, not the driver.

I think this is on the guys more than the driver. They should have the lanes blocked off in some way

That video isn't as good as the wide angle on their website. They have three other workers get out of their truck, throw on their hard hats, and just causally stroll over like this must happen all the time.

If they were lower than the 16'-6" minimum highway clearance without closing the lane (which appears to be the case), then, yes, I think you are correct.

Yep, giving the 18-wheeler the all clear to proceed. Not sure of the driver's responsibility to gauge his height, but that flagger should have had more sense there.

With that said, that flagger was ready to catch him if the harness was not hooked up properly.

If Gordon would have been riding around on top of that truck like he promises this could have been avoided.

Agreed, you can clearly tell they were letting vehicles pass underneath the bucket without closing the lane, and in the longer video with a wider frame they didn't bother closing off the lane from the exit which allowed this to happen in the first place. This was a question of not if, but when that would happen.
