Well, what would you expect, for the cop to go “rassle” with a knife wielding maniac because that’s what they do in “the movies”?

I'm gonna guess how this would have gone down if no police were called.

Big girl and or Pink girl and or first white girl would be dead now after a stabbing incident.
(Thankfully, the dog would still be OK)
Police called at this point.
Everyone scatters, of course, except whoever lost the knife fight.
Police go to look for any witnesses.
Police can't find anyone who saw anything.
Case goes down as yet another unsolved crime statistic.

Couple thoughts on someone who deals with adolescents who deal in this type of behavior regularly.

The reason all the people in the video started freaking out when he shot is because this fight in the front yard is no big deal for them. It is a very normal occurrence. I hear young kids talking all the time about fights and laughing about it and bragging about it. That's why they were so shocked.

If you have never been in or around a fight it can be very hard to hold yourself together in the moment and not let your adrenaline start pumping. That guy had 3-4 seconds on site and freaked and started shooting to stop the incident. More training needed here for sure.

Lastly, why are tasers not used more? Lot's of recent incidents I feel could be solved with a taser rather than a gun? (ignorance for lack of knowledge..)

The video clearly shows the cop is a hero. If he had waited another half second that girl in pink could have been dead. What an incredible job by the cop to come into a really bad situation and make the right move that quickly.

You say you deal with adolescents like this, but you evidently must not be there in the heat of the moment.
Or you'd be dead now.
Same with all of these "social workers" that libs want to use.
De escalating a situation sometimes requires quick and forceful actions.
But, you wouldn't know that. You play Monday morning quarterback and second guess every decision as if you could do it better.

Cop is a hero!! Girl in pink and her family should be grateful that the cop acted so quickly and saved her life.

SHE DID NOT STAB THE COP OR EVEN ATTEMPT TO !! She was in a physical fight with another female & pulled a knife out. The cop started shooting once he pulled up & got out the car! He could’ve used a taser, or even told the girl to put

What kind of dumb shite is this. Do you want to ask her to have a beer summit in order not to stab and kill somebody.

Her wording makes it seem like this is some sort of accomplishment. Who the frick post something like this hours after their child is killed.

Yes and the brief interview this woman gave (her bio mother?) was even more bizarre. She was detached and devoid of emotion, except almost appearing to smile at times, but didn’t appear to be in a state of shock. Almost as if she was describing a boring walk around the block or the death of a very distant and elderly person. It was uncomfortable to watch, made my hinky meter go off. And then I learned the knife wielding girl was in foster care.

I am part of breaking up fights on a regular basis. Maybe not with knives however lol

I definitely agree. I'm not saying this guy made the wrong decision. I am saying 100% this is what is going on in the peoples minds in the video

This is a broad statement for someone you dont know lol Im not even second guessing his decision. I am attempting to provide clarity on why they thought he went overboard by shooting

It is someone child and even though that persons child is wrong they are upset.

At the end of the day her child put everyone in this situation.

As far as the officer who did his or her job.
They will try to dig up some dirt even if they have to go back to that person in high school to get him or her fired.

There is no winning for anyone in this situation. At the end of the day the 16 yr old girl put herself and everyone else in that situations they are in. Her mother needs to accept that.

Yeah because their trash and shitty foster parents. Who lets 15 year old kids knife each other.

You can't be serious? In that 3 seconds of chaos she passed in front of him pulled a knife and was peaking in the upswing before going down for a potential killing strike.

His training worked perfectly. He neutralized a threat before she committed murder. what do you think could have been done in 3 seconds to change to course of those events?

Because it probably would not have worked and the girl would have died. That was a text book use of deadly force situation. Hollywood has sold the world on lies about tasers just like guns. they do not knock people out. it causes muscle spasms that's it. some people can fight through it. She could have also continued into killing the girl. You use lethal force against lethal force.

The knife wielder was in foster care, apparently at that address. Her mother and every other adult family member had failed her, either by not caring one iota for her welfare from a young age or being deemed unfit to have her live with them. But now they will scream “family” at the top of their lungs as they attempt to board the gravy train. Kudos to the police for immediately releasing this video.

Did anyone else see the girl give the dude in gray something when she was attacking the first girl on the ground? Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Oddly shaped item too.
