Just my take right or wrong, they (police/detectives) will do very little in this situation (fwiw). The lesson is she did every correctly. I hope she and friend were not injured and they find the guy.

Shite happens to good people and we end up paying for some pos that does not obey the law. There is no problem in trying to find this guy, but what did you want the daughter to do other than grab the license plate?

This. 16yr olds will make up all kinds of stuff when they think their in trouble.

As a mom, who prefaced the statement by saying she’s 16, I think the pedophiles making it dirty need to delete their statements.

We got to them before the cop did. It was state police. They took a picture but it was blurry. Silver or gold suv. On Seigen coming from north mall drive, right before the interstate. They pulled into the Marathon gas station across from Racetrak.

Agree.

Rules don't apply if she's underage. I would have downvoted but we have a chance at a 28-3.

I think he was just saying they’ve had a lot lately with expired registrations where they haven’t been able to find a person. So for us to not get our hopes up.

She should have taken a picture of an expired inspection sticker, Cops would've been all over that.

You can search whoever’s that plate was registered to at the time it was issued address. But that isn’t going to necessarily be the driver who hit the OP’s daughter. Plates are switched all the time and the person could have moved three times since it was issued.

Happened to me in Dallas once. Cops literally laughed at me. I had a description of perp and plate number, they told me it was a waste of their time, no one will get in trouble over it. And that was true.

DPD just provided a police report. They knew who owned the car, but didn't do shite.

Good news is there doesn't appear to be injuries. I am sure your daughter is shaken by this and you come across as a supportive parent.

The cops will probably shelf it since there were no injuries. Even if they find the guy, all he has to do is not give a statement and the cops really can't/won't do much.

Yeah it's quite pathetic some of the statements being made here about a 16yo daughter.
