BATON ROUGE – LSU Police say 16 juveniles were charged with criminal trespassing after busting a midnight "drinking party" inside a university greenhouse Saturday.
University officials say on Feb. 4, police saw two girls in the X109 Parking Lot around midnight. While questioning the women, two men were seen fleeing the area and were later apprehended.
Police then responded to the LSU greenhouses located on Gourrier Lane and discovered a “drinking party.” A total of 16 juveniles were detained and later released with charges of criminal trespassing.
Investigators learned that the juveniles gained access to the greenhouses using a stolen key. Police say the key was taken from one of the juvenile’s father who works at the facility.
LSU spokesperson Ernie Ballard said none of the juveniles are LSU students. Ballard said five 18-year-olds, eight 17-year-olds and three 16-year-olds were charged.

I wonder if the dad will get in trouble for this. That would suck for him.

It literally says right there none of them were college students

Uhigh students.
15 of them weren't charged and it is being handled by the school.
The 1 that stole the key, apparently the parent opted to give the kid up versus taking the hit on his job, is being charged. I think it is a felony.

Where were these greenhouse parties when I was in school?

Seriously doubt this was the first time they did this, probably been going on for awhile. I give them credit for creativity. There are cars in those parking lots all hours of the day and night, and the greenhouses aren't really close to anyone who would give a shite. They'll get a slap on the wrist and tell their kids about it at tailgates.

It happens on occasion, though it usually takes the jackass in question doing thousands of dollars in damage.
Rich lawyer daddy was throwing money at schools to take his kid but no one was biting.

Same as the fun parties these days. They happened. You just weren't invited.

If they charge a kid with a felony for this, that's just stupid. Why frick a kid up forever when absolutely no one was harmed?

Maybe he was arrested for something that could result in a felony but police don't charge you with anything. I doubt a prosecutor would tag a juvenile as a felon because of a drinking party where no property or life was harmed.
