But over 40 percent of blacks are on government assistance, a number that is alarming.

I'd bet a comparable rate of ranchers are getting federal subsidies of some nature...

Both BLM (Bureau of Land Management and Black Lives Matters) movements can go frick themselves. They masquerade as people fighting the good fight but in actuality one just wants to free load and the other is simply a racist group.

The guys admitted to setting the fire, so it's arson regardless

No it's not. They do controlled burns to get rid of underbrush. My guess is it's just another land grab by the BLM

The authorities need to storm this place. Or just shoot some tear gas in their. It's not like they have hostages

miss work tomorrow? I wonder if this federal offense affect their gubment checks?

I'd say they are a whole lot more likely to actually work and be productive members of society. Farmers and ranchers maybe.

Yep. And if the white zealots choose not to comply and get gunned down in the process, oh well. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

It was federal land. Does anyone have the right to set fires on federal land without permission?

So people are willing to put their life on the line to fight for some old a-hole who didn't want to stop using land he didn't own? Idiots.

Are they rioting? Are they looting? Destroying private businesses? Impeding productive members of society? Inconveniencing anyone?

No.

I've said since Ferguson that peacefully occupying a gov't building is the way to go about a protest, much like Magdan Square. Not looting weave stores.

Would you peacefully occupy a federal building because the federal government prevented you from using land you don't own to run your business?

Me personally? No. I have a job and kids and other things to worry about. Doesn't mean I don't support the right of citizens to protest their gov't that isn't damaging private property or inconveniencing citizens.

Personally I think they look a little silly "occupying" an empty ranger station in the woods in the middle of winter.
But better that than clogging up the streets of town and annoying citizens just trying to live their life.

They've self isolated. I think the best course might be to just ignore them and let them run out of supplies. Without gov't agents there harassing them they'll get tired and go home.

so, one of their home boys got convicted for setting a fire and these guys are protesting that?

there has to be more to the story than that...

No they are protesting over two different things:

The first is the fact that the father and son have already served prison time and were released. Now a judge all of a sudden decided that they didnt spend enough time in jail so he ordered them to serve even more time.

The second is the fact that this family owned all of this federal land for generations but over time the area around their property became a preserve. The fed govt wanted the family land as well and after many years of refusing to sell, the govt just kept upping the fees for the grazing permits until they had to sell off multiple plots and now the family business has pretty much gone to nothing.

The father and son peacefully turned themselves in over the "arson" but its bullshite that this corrupt judge is putting them back in jail bc once they are jail the family cant use the farm as well to make money. Cant mKe money, cant pay the fees, must give up land...

They were already sentenced and served their time. BLM wants them to serve more time for the same crime. Does that not seem corrupt to you?

can you imagine the response if a group of "dindus' as they call them here took over a federal building like this. This place would be calling for an all out bombing. And every one of you know I am right. Bookmarked for later linking

Sure the response would be different; the reason for any significant gathering, or swarming, of dindus begins and ends at "more free shite."

We dont know what these people want yet.

No, that doesn't seem right at all.

Is there an explanation of how that can even be possible? Are you saying that nothing else happened, and after serving the time they were sentenced to, and having not broken any terms, they are being told to go back to jail?

Seems like if it is as you say, they don't need 150 goobers occupying a refuge, they need a barely competent lawyer.

The article I read said the federal judge gave the a shorter sentence than the minimum five years because they were tried as terrorists. He gave the dad 3 months and the son 12 months. Both served their time and now the BLM wants them to serve the full five years.

And I agree on the lawyer part.

We have armed thugs taking over a federally run building. But it's okay.

I said if they were doing the exact same thing. That is taking over a federal building and armed.
