I'd imagine an incident like this has shaken up that neighborhood. That's not a great area, but it's not a place you expect to get murdered in your driveway.

Did kid live around there? Murder makes no sense regardless of this, but I just can't fathom a 73 year unarmed old lady walks out and first thought is to murder instead of run unless kid knew the lady knew who he was which probably still makes him just as much of a thug and no chance at rehabilitation.

I tried to view google street view and am guessing street flooded (one street view had several repairs and items from houses still pulled out on several houses), but around house there is multiple time frames moving on either side of house and a third when selecting house making it hard to know most recent picture. One that seems most likely to be the most recent had a for sale sign in front of house along with several others on street with for sale signs. An earlier view seems like house next door bought by one the we buy houses companies who probably got it cheap and repaired flood damage.

It's sad either way, but if they just moved in or hadn't yet been able to sell and move out it just sucks a little more.

I saw on FB that the older couple had been trying to sell since the flood
Whether that’s true or the circumstances around it IDK

It sucks that they were elderly, probably worked their asses off their entire lives for everything they had, didn’t live beyond their means & were good family & community oriented people & were taking care of each other in their old age until a little POS that has no home training & was taught to steal & lie destroyed their lives
& he will get away with it meaning he will not get the death penalty & if he does it won’t happen for 30 years

It’s bullshite

There are a lot of people who are impoverished who don’t resort to murdering the elderly.

Since the flood a ton of undesirables moved into the nearby Woodlawn Acres subdivision. I'm sure HUD had a hand in that

Can't be the case. The government definitely doesn't ruin everything it touches.

My parents got less than 2'. The most any house received in Antioch Villa was probably under 4'. Woodlawn Acres is much lower.

Probably looking for an AP Physics book and found a gun that was walking around looking trouble. He tried to save the lady but the gun wouldn't be denied. Another example of senseless gun violence. Poor kid dindu nuffin.

If the woman’s husband would have showed the thug his weapon then laid it down, the thug would have put his down and turned himself in. I read this was true....

If only BRPD had given him a Junior Officer sticker when he was younger, none of this would've happened.

This is the kind of info I come to the OT for.

I grew up in Antioch Villa. Lived there from mid 70s until I graduated from high school.

That part of Morel definitely flooded in '83. I know it flooded in 2016 because I went for a run around the neighborhood in February 2017 and you could still see trash piled up. Doesn't flood as bad as Woodlawn Acres does but it definitely floods.

GIS 2016 flood map

I cruise through once in a while to see what it looks like now. The oak tree my parents planted is now huge.

Future Democrats of America doing what Democrats do.

This fine young man will surely be released early by our wonderful Judge (you know who) to terrorize more citizens in just a few years.

Either way, we must get this young man released and to the voting booths in three years!

Sincerely,

SJWs
