What really pisses me off is the perpetrator doesn’t have a father figure. We want to automatically blame the kid for this but he has zero authority in his life. If I did anything perceived as wrong by my parents all hell would break lose. This kids life is ruined. For what? Because his parents were selfish.

I live in Harahan. Nice to see that it's spreading here.

There are reasons crime is out of control in the city, and the Jefferson Parish line has been a boundary.

The police here did their part to reinforce to the criminals in NOLA that this isn’t the place to spread the lawlessness. Now the courts here need to continue the lesson.

The 15 year old is damn lucky he lives in the year 2022.

Because 20 years ago he would’ve been dead at the scene “due to unforeseen injuries”

Very well stated. And the destruction of the AA family unit is exactly what LBJ intended.

With the amount of money Harahan has from speed traps... they should have the best damn outfitted force in the country.

They'd better.....What have they got 12 cops to patrol 2 square miles?

A few issues with this:
- Harahan didn't catch shite. JPSO caught the suspect. Love the fact that they are taking credit and acting as though they are a legitimate department.
- No one one would have caught the suspect had it not been for a neighbor that jumped in his car and followed the suspect.
- How is the witness thanked?Harahan talks to him like a second class citizen and tries to arrest him for having a beer before driving his car to follow the suspect.

And this kid will likely sire multiple kids. It is also likely that he has little to nothing to offer to the lives of those children.

There is a long play to curb this cycle, but most people won't want to hear it. Hint: reproductive rights perhaps should not be totally guaranteed.

All the dumbasses on NOLA.com's facebook page are like "see this happens in JP, too!!!" and it's interesting to see them swallow their pride after you realize the perp is not from JP. He just made a serious mistake of crossing an invisible line when he did a New Orleans ride share.

He had a bright future as a career criminal, and now he's going to get some real justice.

But if the kid makes it big in sports or entertainment, you best believe his parents will say "you owe me"

Throw the kid in juvi until he's 18. With that, build better juvi facilities that these kids can actually come out of with a head on their shoulders and be a productive member of society. Throw his parents in jail for 3-5 years with forced spay and neuter.

Some where the cycle needs to be broken. Biggest issue is actually the democratic policies that don't hold people accountable, welfare crap, etc. Dump all the handouts without having serious restrictions and most of this would fix itself over time.
