Hey Gang,
Since being in the military I have had horrible athlete's foot. Do yall know of a good doctor in the BR area who has helped one of you? Yes, I shower everyday. Its bad. My flesh is exposed. I constantly moisturize it. Scratching it gives me an o face.

I don't know a podiatrist but good luck finding one. I do suggest you wear sandals around the house or just go barefooted using toe separators. Put foot powder on a couple of times a day. Your feet have to dry off. The moisture is the problem

Try soaking your feet daily in a 5-10% Clorox and water solution daily. I used to have athletes feet real bad in high school and this cleared me up

Don’t know anyone in BR, but most podiatrists in your network should be able to do a quick eval and hook you up.

I had a similar situation for 8 years and mine was able to clear it up within a few weeks w Lamisil pills. They will also need to do some lab work bc it can affect your liver

Edit: my main issue was the dry cracking skin all around the back and outside of my foot. I’d only occasionally have issues between the toes that would clear up quick w those otc sprays

I don’t have any advice to offer but I had athletes foot once in my life for several months. It was terrible, I would sit on the side of the tub and floss my toes with a sock to scratch it.

I wish you luck, I ended up buying most of the over the counter products and applied them as often as possible.

Do you wear the same shoes most of the day every day?

Stop doing that. Let them air out and dry between uses. Cycle between pairs if you can.

My son had that the bottom of his foot would just peel off. It’s caused by a fungus which causes the smell too. We got a spray that helped, i can’t remember the name but you probably need the spray and some pills and shots

Pick a dermatologist and go see them.

They can prescribe something to get rid of it.

Need to see doctor like you are planning. Sounds like it may not be athlete foot.probably put you on a steroid pack and do a biopsy of the area. Could be an allergy? Possibly your detergent?
