The family of the victim agreed with the deal. Did one of the other two people actually put the car in reverse and crush her to death?

I don't understand agreeing with this pathetically light sentence even if he wasn't the one driving. He was involved in something that he clearly knew was wrong and it led to the death of a woman. Truly sickening story.

While the sentencing is a joke, he was evidently the person that dropped the 2 older guys off and then met up later with them to get rid of evidence. I believe it was a plea down from a manslaughter charge.

Misleading headline

Thanks for the information. Trying to cover up or destroy evidence of a murder should come with a much harsher punishment. I wonder if the judge would issue the same sentence if it was her daughter who was carjacked and then crushed to death like she was nothing.

My grandpa was killed by a drunk driver a few years ago and the guy only got 3 months because the jury found him not guilty on the vehicular homicide charge some damn how.. The judge even stated he was surprised in sentencing. Judge had option to give him 2 years based on charges he was found guilty on, but decides to give him 3 months, probation, and dui school. The justice system is a joke.

Everyone thinks the justice system is a joke when it doesn’t go in their favor.

It would be nice if the article gave more information on his role. Considering he had a manslaughter charge and the others have 2nd degree murder charges, I'm not sure how much he did relative to his partners.

Well allegedly the family of the deceased was on board here.

So I’m not sure you’re on the right track with this

there were three people involved and others facing murder charges

And the victims family is allegedly on board with this plea.

Sounds like the minor was likely minimally involved and they’d rather he get pushed into a better path than tied up in jail?
Yeah but ignoring those facts makes it easier to be mad at those goddamn

I'd like to think that part of my success or say 99 fricking percent of it was not getting talked into carjackings at 15 years old.

I'm not buying that this kid is suddenly going to change his life around and live a productive life. Unless, they start considering his adversity score then he is fricking Elon Musk of Adversity IQ.

Odds are the kids a huge long shot.

That said, still haven’t seen anyone confidently post his involvement at the scene.

If he gets out, stays clean and gets the diploma, I’ve got to think he’s got a better shot than with a long term sentence but it’s an uphill battle to do that and a good chance he ends up back in the system
