Yet we're going to have a whole thread of dumbass comments from people who can't do 2 seconds of research

I commented early on that I read about the family agreeing to the plea deal. It does not change my mind in thinking that this is total bullshite.

This is a person who played a role in something that led to kids witnessing their mom getting crushed to death by a car after getting carjacked and then he participated with trying to hide the car by an abandoned home. I feel awful for the family, but just because the lady's husband is a pastor and he said she was a very forgiving person, a threat to society is a threat to society. I can see going for a lighter sentence, but 6 months and 50 hours of community service (I think I did that much just as part of a Christian high school requirement) is a total joke for being involved with something that took a life and scarred a family forever. That's a system problem there.

Oh you'll pay one way or another..either pay to keep him away from society or pay when he or another just like him robs you or runs a bullet through you or someone you care about

Pretty sure the family agreed to the reduced punishment. So I don’t think they feel slapped

Hopefully they are trying to get him free ASAP so they can take care of him themselves.

Her husband is a pastor, so I don't think that's the case.

A 15-year-old charged in a Gentilly carjacking last November that killed local pastor Jeannot Plessy pleaded guilty Wednesday (May 29) to obstruction of justice and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in juvenile court. A manslaughter charge was dismissed.

This is exactly why I'm distrustful of the "let the non violent prisoners go" programs. The kid killed someone but he's going to serve 6 months for seemingly harmless crimes.

Additionally, the judge ordered that the juvenile be on supervised parole for 18 months, perform 50 hours of community service and

Geez, you get worse than that for a DUI.
