Isn’t most fast food in Japan already automated?

It’s amazing it hasn’t caught on faster here. Smaller footprint, no payroll or payroll tax.

The robots at Popeyes will still tell me to pull up and wait on my spicy. Then bring it out to me missing half the items I purchased

So sitting an extra 4 min after you pulled around at BK may seem frustrating. But it's $7 for a meal, and that's cheaper - and quicker - than any local business is doing.

I also went to a local place, well known place, on Friday evening. Order at counter kind of place. Had 25 people in line when I got there. Waited 10 min, line never moved. I walked out.

People don't support small business because all too often, it's simply a more expensive, slower version of the big business service.

Ill take issue with that false perception, and I will do it with evidence to the contrary.

Two of the best burger joints in BR both have burgers that are 7 or below, Curbside and Burgersmith. Curbside has one for 6.99 and Burgersmith starts at 5.00 for their Smith burger, but yeah, they also have burgers ranging over 10 bucks as well if you so desire, and when eating a burger, I often do myself, but there are other options and even their cheapest burger is light years beyond what you’re going to find at a McDonalds or Burger King because it’s not about how fast and how cheap you can make it, but whether you’re actually going to regret your decision to eat that burger of come away with the feeling you made a better life decision. Hell, Brewbachers has one that’s a hell of a patty and it’s under 7 as well. For my money, I’ll take a really good 7 dollar burger and a glass of water over a 7 dollar piece of garbage, fries, and simple syrup water to actually put in my body.

If you’re worried about time, call ahead to pick up.

It should be programmed in various voices that the customer can choose to give you that authentic fast food experience "Kiss my arse!" Beeps and rolls away

Well no shite. What did the Lefties expect? Did they actually think fast food restaurants we’re gonna pay $15/hr to a full staff of people.

They are some delusional idiots.

Florida passed $15 in November. Thanks, DeSantis

Why are yall so scared of people making $28k a year? That's barely above the poverty line, which is currently at $26,500.

How about we pay people what they deserve so they support themselves? It’s not 1975 anymore.

They don't deserve $15 an hour.

What, beyond a pulse and the basic use of your monkey brain, does a person who puts salt on fries "deserve"?

Because if that's worth $15/hr, and someone else is demonstrably a 500% better and more productive employee, are you going to advocate paying that second person $75/hr?

If you’re mad at people making $15 an hour, then maybe you should get a better paying job.

But I'm not mad.

You said pay people what they deserve. Fast food workers simply don't deserve $15 an hour.

No jobs is what the commie bastards want. They can use that to have the people run to Big Daddy Government. It’s a slow process, but we are headed to communism

All wages should rise. Goods and services have continued to increase in costs while wages have been left behind.

Yea they do because the cost of living has gone up substantially. Just because they choose to work in the fast food industry, doesn’t mean they should be forced to live in poverty. It’s not that hard to understand.

The public voted on that, not DeSantis.

And that 15 is being phased in until 2026

The vehicle to lift people out of poverty is certainly up for debate, but it's like a lot of posters here want people living in poverty.

No poor people is better for everyone.

I don't give a shite. The work they do does not justify $15 an hour. Period.

Mark Cuban was quoted years ago that the biggest change coming in the future was robots/automation. McDonalds has been going with automated cashiers all over Europe for several yrs now. Albertsons has replaced half its check out counters in the last year with automated checkout discs. etc etc

Is capitalism. And it has done just that. Our "poor" in this country are not poor. Travel outside the US a bit and you'll understand this.
