I posted this story on the board a few years ago and someone that sounded knowledgeable said that once this happens, and it happens more than you'd expect, there's nothing the oil company can do about it. IDK, but

It happened to me. I have the deposit slip to prove. Bank error deposited 1 million. It was reversed immediately..
