Several thousand accidentally went into my ex's(an illegal) account at Chase and she closed it after withdrawing it. I made her arse take it back before she was deported.

I posted this story on the board a few years ago and someone that sounded knowledgeable said that once this happens, and it happens more than you'd expect, there's nothing the oil company can do about it. IDK, but maybe you'll get lucky!

Cash it out and go bet it all on black. Hope I win. 50/50 chance even if I have to pay it back I still come out ahead.

If I lose oh well nothing I can do

You could put it all in treasury bonds and promise to return the money when it matures

I'm headed straight to Cane's and buying two Caniacs without stressing out. Extra sauce.

had a distant relative get a call from the department in the La gov that handles unclaimed property and money. They told him they had a check of nearly $80,000 of his. Right name, DoB, etc. Relative got the check and began making calls as to why he got it. Narrowed it down to some kind of oil money he should have gotten, but didn't. But he had no oil on his 7 acres and none around the area. After about a year I told him maybe it was a secret gift from an uncle who had died, and was in the oil business. He cashed it. Two years later he got a call saying it was a mistake. Something about the wrong address and oil rights etc. He said "nope", and kept it. They never attempted a second call.

$1.5 million deposited into your bank account
from an unknown source, not once but twice. What would you do?

Wait for the mob guy or cartel guy to ask for it back. Then give it back.

Yeah. I think people misunderstand a bank error. It’s not free money. Banks will pursue you, and it’s actually a decent amount of jail time associated with keeping it.

100% true.
It happened to me. I have the deposit slip to prove. Bank error deposited 1 million. It was reversed immediately..

ATM, bury it. Change identity. Come back and dig it up a few years later.
