The “fear” of New Orleans is irrational. Pretty much anywhere a normal, productive citizen or tourist would go is safe as long as you exercise a minimal amount of common sense.

"Common sense" in New Orleans means walking in groups of three or more, watching your back, and not being downtown after midnight. And that's regular advice from citizens on this board. Now, does that sound normal to you?
