Houston Chronicle article

$1.3 million Someone got carried away with their approximations....

quote:

Approximately $1.3 million in cocaine was seized in Fayette County, Texas Friday. Sheriff's deputies and K-9, Lobos, discovered 13 kilograms of the substance hidden behind the license plate of a white sedan around 12:45 p.m. at mile marker 658 on Interstate 10 in central Texas

You'll have to explain to those of us who are not in the drug trafficking industry why the $1.3M figure is off.

60-80/ key dependent on quality cut and distributed isn't too far off.

that's 11 keys, so at least 700k before distribution, etc.

Whatever powder keg. You know that figure is if they sell it gram by gram instead of by kilo.

I think law enforcement generally uses street prices to inflate the value of the bust. Does $100/gram sound reasonable?

That's $100 a gram. I haven't done coke in over 15 years but that sounds like a lot.
