11-year-old boy genius starts first semester at Southern University

BATON ROUGE, La. (ABC) - A child prodigy is making history at Louisiana's Southern University.
"I am very excited, so I've been waiting for this a long, long, long time," says 11-year-old Elijah Precciely.
Precciely is the youngest person ever to receive a full scholarship to Southern University, a historically black college in Baton Rouge. He is majoring in physics.
"What really strikes me is that when people think I'm 15. Alright, I'm either a tall 11-year-old or a short 15-year-old," says Precciely.
With a sense of humor and discipline beyond his years, university officials say even a genius needs guidance and support.
"He's more than just a student, more than just a prodigy," says Manicia Finch, Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management at Southern. "I think he is a young gentleman and a man of the Holy Spirit, and he's going to fit in very well as he already does here at Southern University."
Precciely is already an inspiration on and off campus.
"Act like your life depends on it, because it does," says Precciely. "When you learn, you increase your life."

I’ve seen two different girls squirt and while it’s pretty cool it’s not something I’d want to deal with on a regular basis.

Why Southern? If he’s a smart as they claim why not go somewhere with somewhat respectable academic programs?

I actually agree with you. If he were a real genius then wouldn't Harvard or a school of similar caliber love to accept him.
Actually, even a top tier HBCU (Howard, Morehouse, Hampton,etc.) would be a more prestigious accomplishment.
I would need to see an IQ test of the kid to see if he is truly as gifted as others claim.
But this overlooks the real issue... Southern is not a good path. Their academic rigor is essentially at a community college level. This current event reinforces my idea that SU is desperately looking for students to balance out its budget. They are already underfunded and they are doing everything they can to stay afloat at this point.
Did you know that they even waive out of state tuition for students?
