some early looks at what it will look like. Looks like they're trying ot give it a Perkins Rowe feel to it? What does the OT think about spending 100 mil on a MALL (especially clearview)renovation?
Me, personally, it'll be run down and back to the old clearview in over under 5 years

They should just spend money tearing down everything except Target and Zeas because the rest of that “mall” isn’t worth 2 fricks

That's an awful lot of money to spend on a dying business model in a dying metro area.

I'm not sure about run down, but it does seem like a little bit of a risk to dump that much money into it.

Somehow though, Lakeside Mall has been thriving and expanding for the past 10 years at least.

Everytime I rewatch Blues Brothers and the mall chase scene comes on I get excited because the Mall Section of Clearview Mall still looks like the one they get chased in!

Only two kinds of malls going now:

Upscale, high end trendy malls that thrive.

Old basic sneaker and weave malls that are basically urban flea markets.

Pittsburgh sunk 100 million into a mall in 2012, it was a disaster.

I'm not sure I would call this a "mall" when it is finished. It's basically a shopping center with some apartments and a hotel.

The apartments, IF DONE RIGHT, could be nice since it's right off the interstate and not far from Tulane-Lakeside Hospital (which itself is supposed to be getting a makeover and expansion). Also not far from EJGH, which has a less certain future. Point being, could be a great place for medical residents to live.

You have a Target, a pretty decent movie theater, some other places to eat, a few decent stores. I'm curious to see what they add. Absoluely won't be anywhere near the size of Perkins Rowe.

If your definition of dying metro area is consistentcy in population this decade, then, yeah I guess.
