1 out of every 800 south Dakotians has perished from China flu

How many died from cancer there, was it more or less? What about heart disease? What about suicide? Not to downplay Covid but we act like it’s the only thing that matters.

Edit: have 884 died from Covid in South Dakota (not with Covid, but as a result of it and tested to confirm)?

Edit 2: per Google 1091 people have died it says from Covid in SD. I don’t know if I buy that number due to the shenanigans with the counting of it. For a while (and I dunno this might still be continuing) they were counting people who died as a Covid death only because they had symptoms like a cough that might indicate it, not that they actually tested them to confirm. And Docs were marking it as Covid because their hospital got paid significantly more if it was.

According to scott gottlieb, perhaps the 2nd most famous disease expert right now next to fauci, we are catching about 20% of cases.

SD has had 85,000 recorded cases.

If that only represents 20% of the actual total, then SD has had 50% get the virus.

My dad lives in a small town in eastern South Dakota, population 35. Most of the 35 are retired 70+. 18 in the town have had the virus, 1 death and he was 92.

So 50% seems reasonable extrapolated throughout the the state including the meat packing workers, Indian reservations etc. Most people in the rural areas aren’t too concerned.

99.875% survival rate. Seems to line up properly with the 99.9% number every other community has.
