I doubt you’ll leave Macon if models verify. But Meridian looks about the cutoff line right now. So if you could stay there you might be ok

Camp is right off HWY 45 before Macon.Hwy 45 is pretty well traveled by 18 wheelers. Hopefully they clear the path for the 60 miles I would need to get to Meridian if that is indeed the cut off. We shall see.

I have never asked anyone on this board for anything. It looks like we are in the bullseye of this thing. I will prepare as best as possible. But if any of you would, throw a prayer my way please. Thank you

Now on a funny note. My sister in law lives down the street. She is worried all the food will go bad if we lose power. I told her to open the fridge and freezer and she will be good. Probably be colder in her house than in the fridge.

If it can snow 8” in one day here north of downtown St. Amant, it can snow 10” in Ferriday!

Worst day of my life since my wife found out what 8” actually is.

Snow I can handle. But they are talking about .5 to 1 inch of freezing rain. Quarter of an inch is bad. I live in the country and iam surrounded by trees.

Two questions:

What are the expected conditions in st amant, America for this event?

How will this affect traffic for my drive to 30A in June?

Take as old as time. Weathermen tease snow for days and as it gets closer say it will be more sleet and freezing rain

Every time

I remember years ago Lake Charles had an ice storm and my grandparents lost power for a few days. My grandpa put the contents of their freezer on the back porch. It never got above 30.

It snows at least once a year here. Personally I really enjoy it when it snows.

That's cringier than calling Hammond that or when LP people say its god country.

St amant is like that one town where everybody is apart of the same family tree. Like Alabama but if they were Cajuns.

Great jambalaya though.

Probably already stated, haven’t read everything in the thread and I know everyone has their hot takes and funny retorts, but this is going to be legit.
How much is tbd. I can’t speak for you LA and TX posters other than enjoy the snow before it turns to ice. But for certain posters here in the deeper south, unless the sleet holds on longer in metro Atlanta and North Georgia, we are fricked for a few days. Severe winter WX is impossible to pinpoint so it could change in the next 48 hrs, but this is going to be something a lot of people talk about for a long time.

somethin crawfish prices
somethin shark swimming on the highway
somethin milk
