1/2 Ton transmission issues

Looking to get a new truck. Is there a specific year where the Ford/Chevy transmission issues got fixed? I have read 2023 and going forward is safe. Is that true?

2022 for the F150 10 speed… the 21 is still an issue but way cheaper to repair than the 17-20 model

Former life long GM customer. frick GM in their goat smelly arse. Their transmissions suck balls almost as bad as their engines. Their trucks are over engineered, electronic garbage. And even if all the others are as well, theirs is a special kind of garbage. Buy anything other than a GM product.

From my understanding the issues with ford/chevy transmissions were the 10 speed automatic when they came out.
I put a lot of miles on a truck and had a 2017 F150 with the 5.0 V8, I think the turbo 6 engine trucks automatically came with the 10 speed but mine still had a 6 speed transmission, I traded that truck in after putting 238k miles on it, original transmission and no issues.
The 2022 I traded it in for was the exact truck down to the color, but the 6 speed transmission was no longer offered, only the 10 speed. 120k+ miles so far and no problems

Correction, late 2022, like after September build date.
The CDF drum wasn't updated until then, 2023 is the way to go.

I targeted a ‘23 F150 for this reason…and they worked out most kinks in the 3.5 Ecoboost. Word online is to do a fill and replace on the tranny fluid every 30k miles just to give yourself the best chance of an avoiding problems.

I have a 2023 Chevy and had to change the transmission valve body. Now I’m waiting on the 6.2 to blow up

Get a ram 1500 with a Hemi, and 8speed. Won’t have any issues with either.

This is going to sound ridiculous but I go to chatGPT for all of this kind of stuff. AI can search the whole internet in a flash and feed you some damn good information with this kind of question. Of course, you don’t have blind faith in it, but you can even ask it to justify its suggestions/reasoning.

I may be talking out of my arse, because I don't actually know about the half tons, but for the f350/450 10r100, if you change the trans fluid every 25,000 miles issues go way down. Hot's Shot Secret Green Diamond is the most recommended fluid per transmission builders.

I had a 2020 Colorado and it was junk from Day 1 first shift of the day like clockwork was hard dealer lied said he couldnt replicate it.
