Pretty sure the now famous Joe Rogan guy said that kids are being infected at a higher rate than anyone, it’s just that only like 2 percent show any real symptoms or sickness. He said basically kids for some reason are not being attacked by the strain, simply just infectious and spreading it like wildfire. He said it is similar to Hepatitis A , where kids literally have no problems but eventually adults around them or in the day care catch symptoms. Then every kid is tested and they all have it.

If that is true, then look for the numbers to completely keep spreading.

I know these decisions are being made based on the advice of so-called "doctors" with their so-called "degrees" and so-called "professional experience", but in my opinion...

You people are marking great points, just not the ones you think you’re making

Two points:

1. Odds of catching the new virus is up there with getting struck by lightning or winning the lottery
2. The healthcare system, like most all things in Italy, is terribly inefficient and grossly mismanaged

Here are a few examples of Tigerchief10 bringing facts and logic to the issue:

quote:

Italy hasn't been first world for centuries dude

quote:

because it hasn't. Italy is always propped up as a nice country because of the Romans. It hasn't been decent since then

quote:

So I see yall have cultivated an angle to keep the hysteria going after the virus doesnt really do anything itself

quote:

Goddamnit frick all you fear mongering pieces of shite. Congrats, you succeeded in pushing mass hysteria and fricking up day to day life. Hope you're fricking happy with yourselves

quote:

I could see globalists telling people to commit suicide to prevent death

quote:

Like I've said many times in this thread. I hope I do get this cold so I can provide play by play and show you retards it's not a big deal

And my personal favorite is in reference to Donald Trump and other older leaders of the United States

quote:

Quarantine them and let everyone else that isnt gonna fall over due to a cold go on about their lives

If they didn’t have government run healthcare over there they wouldn’t be having these problems.

The Spanish flu killed 50 million people because people ignored it or didn’t think it was a big deal. A similar response today would kill over 250 million.

That should excite the global warming alarmists. Oh wait, y'all are the same bunch.

Embarrassing to claim your people have a “right” to healthcare yet in a span of like 1.5 weeks, you’re already rationing care

In the United States, a land where a lot of people think the status quo is acceptable, let's draw a picture....

There are roughly 160,000 ventilators in the United States. If 1 of every 2,000 people needed to be hospitalized simultaneously, we run out of ventilators. This is not counting people with other conditions who require a ventilator, just Coronavirus.

ICU beds? We have roughly 45,000 in the entire US. This means, we have enough beds for 1 in every 10,000 people to require an ICU bed at one time.

The US has roughly 320,000,000 people. It would only take 200,000-300,000 people requiring a ventilator/ICU due to Coronavirus to completely overwhelm our medical system and have us running triage like Italy is....rationing, as you say.

That's 1/10 of 1% of this country requiring care and we're maxed out.

I don't think it'll get that bad (hopefully), but let's not pretend that we're the model of perfect medical care here in the states, even with our private system. We're just as fricked as Italy if shite truly hits the fan.

I understand being concerned and vigilant but that seems out of whack with the current reaction. Italy also has a population whose median age is 9 years older than the United States at 47.3 making more folks susceptible.

One out of 15 people in Italy that contract Coronavirus die from it. If you extrapolate numbers out to 0.025% of Americans contracting the virus and use the same mortality rates as the Italians then that’s over 500k deaths, right?

Do you understand that very few of those 15k cases require medical attention?

I guess once you die you no longer need medical attention, but 7% mortality rate seems pretty significant.
