I understand being concerned and vigilant but that seems out of whack with the current reaction. Italy also has a population whose median age is 9 years older than the United States at 47.3 making more folks susceptible.

I've tried bringing logic to this issue. Sadly it seems people have decided to act like the sky is falling and nothing will stop them

Is that supposed to make them feel better about how overwhelmed their healthcare system is right now?

I dont really get what the point of that number is. Its meaningless since it depends on them being tested. .025% of people being sick overwhelms their healthcare system?

ok

Im not saying that we wont be fine, but this is just a bad statistic

The Spanish flu killed 50 million people because people ignored it or didn’t think it was a big deal. A similar response today would kill over 250 million.

It’s a circle jerk of know it alls who fancy themselves experts. Kind of like a hurricane prediction thread. All the main corona thread needs is Peej giving his analysis.

1918 = 50-100 million deaths / 1.8 billion of population = ~4%.

2019 = 4% * 7.7 billon = ~300 million.
