Good Morning Humans
Let’s hit it!!
This Day in History: September 02, 2026
1666
The great fire of London broke out, destroying much of the city, including St. Paul's Cathedral.
1789
The U.S. Treasury Department was established.
1901
Vice President Theodore Roosevelt gave his "speak softly and carry a big stick" speech, regarding foreign policy, at the Minnesota State Fair.
1945
Japan's formal surrender in World War II was celebrated as Victory over Japan (V-J) Day.
1963
Alabama governor George Wallace prevented the racial integration of Tuskegee High School by encircling the building with state troopers.
1969
North Vietnamese president Chi Minh died.
JOTD
"How was your golf game today, dear?" asks Jack's wife.
Jack says, "I'm gonna have to quit the game. I was hitting pretty well, but my eyesight's so bad I couldn't see where the ball went."
"Well," says his wife, "why don't you take my brother Scott along next time?"
"But he's eighty-five and doesn't even play golf," says Jack.
"But Scott has perfect eyesight. He could watch your ball, and he'd enjoy riding in the cart on that beautiful course."
So the next day Jack tees off with Scott looking on. Jack swings, and the ball disappears down the middle of the fairway.
"Do you see it?" asks Jack.
"Yup," says Scott.
"Well, where is it?" asks Jack.
And Scott says, "I forgot."
