Saints need to swing and go for any QB they feel has potential to be a starter for them. Ian Book? Sure, let’s find out.

They need to take a QB every year until they feel they have it right.

People melting over this pick also refuse to watch because we have Jameis. Clown world right now.

Yea, for better or worse, most free agent, future HOF QB's do not move to a new destination after having played 4-5 years and go on to have the career that Brees did.
That would be the equivalent of Mahomes moving to a new team now.

ETA: I state that with the idea that, yes, we are going to have to find a franchise QB in the draft.

i wouldn't have minded Kyle Trask but the Bucs took him already.

Book doesn't bother me but it seems like we could have gotten him later but if that's who we wanted in this round so be it

You never heard of Steve Young or Warren Moon huh?

Or Randall Cunningham.

Brees is the only one.

LOL.

Haha yeah and those 4 were all pre-Brees, who himself played 20 years in the league and is now retired.

This pick is the cheap backup qb business not the franchise qb business.

And until we have a franchise qb we need to take bigger swings at qb than this and use the day 3 picks to back fill the unfortunate holes from overpaying in the draft or free agency to take those swings.

Why address this right now when there are other positions to address? We’ve begged collectively for a QB to be in the building to learn the past 5 years. Now they want to seem concerned? frick all that!

How often do QBs outside of the 1st round work out? It’s a waste of a pick almost every time. When you need a QB you have to suck it up and suck a year, then grab a potential stud.

Fill the holes with day 3 picks? You need to review our day 3 history and get back to me on that because the Saints tend to draft training camps cuts on Day 3.

As do pretty much all teams

Brady played what 20 with the Pats? That's Montana and Favre, not Brees.

And honestly I don't think those others fit either unless you're counting Moon coming over to the NFL.

Yea when did they play? Let’s just ignore that none of them have hiked a ball in over 20 years. ????

We need to find a good backup for our starter Taysom Hill for sure. Winston can just tote the clipboard.

I think the better question is has there EVER been another situation like with Brees in the history of the nfl, a guy that played out his first contract (and a tagged year) and left to go become a hof elsewhere.

Moon may be the only thing close but he came from another league (which isn't really a thing nowadays).

The Brees situation is pretty damn unique.

Sarcasm?

Drew Brews, Russel Wilson, Brett Favre, Dak Prescott, Tony Romo...
