It’s ridiculous you think 28 is the back end of Lattimore career. He’s currently in his prime. Ramsey was traded at the age of 26 i believe for 2 firsts and some change. He was traded for a 3rd because his cap hit was insane and he was absolutely horrible that year for the rams. Will they get 2 firsts? Absolutely not. Should they get a first? Yes. Now the Kamara thing is different. 28 for a rb is not ideal. 28 for a corner is def not old.

And their contracts backloaded like everyone else's? If so, we're not getting anything for them.

Their peak is usually 26-27

How many years past 28 do you figure he has left of “elite” play? Very few play at an all pro level past 30. He also only played in 7 games last year and 10 this year.

They could get a first from a good team that’s a CB away but again the cap figures might not work

Howie is going to finesse Mickey into giving them Latt and two first round picks in exchange for a 2005 third round pick.

On just talent Latt is a 1st and AK a 2nd.

We can't afford to trade or cut either of them.

Trading away those guys doesn’t necessarily mean its a full tear down but gives them some salary cap relief.

How much salary cap relief?

Do you guys actually think a team will give a first round pick for either Latt or Kamara???

I don't.

I actually don't think any team would make a trade for either. A legitimate trade anyway.

I would blow it up especially if you are keeping coaching staff intact

Even if you fire Carmichael are you confident Allen will hire a decent replacement

He hired Todd grantham and the dline has been awful

Negative for Latt.

35 Mil dead cap, 27 Mil cap hit.

Kamara, not much better.

17.2 Mil dead cap, 18.9 Mil cap hit.

Neither are getting traded.

The Saints aren't trading either one. I'm not saying they shouldn't, but they aren't going to. They are going to take the lazy route and give DA one more shot after 'only having 1 year of Carr".

The melt on this board is going to be real but I think Carmichael is the only one to get the boot and that's still a big maybe as the saints are currently 14th in offensive rankings so they probably believe the offense can be top 10 if they fix the early season redzone issues.

Right
If you’re going to absorb enormous dead monies you just dump Carr

I would take a 4th round pick for Kamara and be happy about it

He's being paid above market value. Nobody is trading for Kamara under his current contract.

Your only hope is that Kamara sees the writing on the wall in 25 (he's getting cut or his contract reworked) and is willing to do that now for the team that he's moving to. Then you MIGHT get a middle round pick.

None of that really helps the Saints cap situation though.

The cap hits are rough, but if you get draft picks you have cap "relief" in that you have slotted money depending on where the pick falls, and its secured for 3-4 years. If Allen returns, I don't see Lattimore playing in NO.

If Allen returns I can see Kamara asking out as well.
