re: Wouldn’t surprise me to see Lattimore and Kamara traded in the off-season

I have a feeling we will be sending both of them to new teams for draft picks. More than likely at their request and I can’t blame them if it shakes out that way. Both players, especially Kamara, deserve to play for a better team.
I think a 2nd for Lattimore and a 3rd for Kamara gets it done. Shame we have to likely trade players away to restock our draft picks from horrendous trades.
While I’m thinking about it, it wouldn’t surprise me if Olave wants out instead of playing with Carr for another year.
Goodness what a mess

The cap hits are rough, but if you get draft picks you have cap "relief" in that you have slotted money depending on where the pick falls, and its secured for 3-4 years. If Allen returns, I don't see Lattimore playing in NO.
There is no value there for other teams to do this. Those cap hits go with them. The dead money stays. No team is giving up any sort of significant value for those cap hits on those players. Those guys are virtually untradeable. Only topped by Carr's lack of trade value.

I'll tell you whats going to happen. They will ride out the bad contacts until final year when a contender is looking for someone. They will get less value because they will need extensions. No one wants a RB on the wrong side of 30 so Kamara has no value. Carr will have to be cut because he has a no trade clause. Latt is the only one with value but not until 2025 when you save 6 mil on cap. And you are still praying for a team to get crazy and give you a 3rd.
The Saints will have to decide to ride this out, suck balls for a few years, fire everyone, and hope you draft a franchise QB quickly.

Theres a guy in Denver who I can promise you would be interested.

Sure. Here's your 6th rounder. Worth it if you draft Tom Brady, I guess.

Lol he gave up a late pick for a kicker. He’ll give up a midrounder or more for Kamara.

take a look at their contracts and then come tell me they will be traded this offseason. It costs us more for them not to be on the roster than on it and no one is taking on a contract for a 30 year old RB or a CB that has missed most of the past 2 seasons.

Kamara is 28 and Mcaffrey was traded for second, third, fourth and fifth round picks. Contenders will give up picks to get a guy that gets you over the hump.
Imagine Kamara on the Chiefs or Bills.

And they had a QB making 800K. They had the luxury to do that.

Lol. Neither of these teams are paying a 29 year old RB 20 Mil.

Who do you see AK going to, IF traded? Hopefully AFC as I don't want to play against him at all, especially if it is twice a year inter-divisional.
Posted on 12/28/23 at 8:44 am to LSUZombie
One of those two is not like the other.
Kamara is a joke that refuses to take contact as a running back. No team is giving anything of value for him with his contract, so stop dreaming. He puts up garbage time stats and then people blow him as if he’s a top tier running back.
If he grows a spine, maybe he gets some interest but he’s more likely to just keep attacking dudes already down on the ground than that.

Lattimore should pull a 1st

Jalen Ramsey was traded for 3rd round pick and shitty TE. Trading vet players is never a great option because you never get equal value in return.
The rams were also trading from a negative position.
Lattimore should pull a 1st in the right situation.
Would probably end up being a 2nd and 4th.

Neither Lattimore or Kamara want to be a Saint any more
Trade them and start rebuilding
Throw Tomas in the mix too

Whoever give anything of value.
It’s Alvin fricking kamara and he’s pushing 30 as a running back. It’s not like we’re trading prime Adrian Peterson.
But as has been said numerous times. Nobody is trading anything for these guys under the current financial restraints.

100% We have made a few terrible trades over the years-
**The trades to Move up in the 1st round for 4th round talent. (No. 14, Marcus Davenport)
Gave away
2018 pick No. 18
2018 pick No. 88
2018 pick No. 248
2019 pick No. 21
for
2018 pick No. 14 (Marcus Davenport)
2018 pick No. 147
Doing this With Lamar Jackson still on the board!!
Horrible Move
---------------------------------
2011 Mark Ingram Trade
2011 2nd Round pick (No. 56)
2012 1st Round pick (No. 27)
to the to Patriots
2011 1st Round (No. 28, Mark Ingram)
Bad trade in my opinion
I hate Moving up unless its for a QB.

I think they will be on roster for 2 more years.
Posted on 12/30/23 at 9:22 pm to LSUZombie
That would be a smart move. Dump their salaries if it will help the cap and get some trade picks for them. If you hang onto them they will be washed up or retired by the time the team is good or competitive again. Might as well get something of value while you can.

I bet they don’t if they retain Allen. He’s not getting better by losing his two best players.
I agree with you Zombie, but I’m just saying Allen will be a shite head if you do that. You’re basically firing him without firing him. Which is the laziest thing possible.
