Draft Downs at 8 and Riley/Koolaid are your boundary corners and Downs plays as your 3rd safety/nickel

Draft Delane at 8 and move 1 of Riley/Koolaid inside with Delane taking over a boundary spot.

Draft a WR with Riley/Koolaid as your boundary corners and Blackmon or a free agent as your nickel

Draft a DE with Riley/Koolaid as your boundary corners and Blackmon or a free agent as your nickel

My big board

Mendoza - will be top pick
Bailey - gone by pick 5
Reese - gone by pick 5
Styles - dream pick
Delane - will probably be the pick
Love - hope the Commanders take him
Bain - dont like the short arms, but better than bad knee
Downs - knee scares me

CB honestly scares me right now. I like Riley and Kool Aid seemed to have turned a corner the second half of the year but we need a true number 1 outside guy. Delane would be awesome.

If Styles makes it to us, I'm now less sure the Saints draft him after signing Ellis with Stutsman and Werner in the fold. Positional value may come in to play. The Saints only play 2 LB at a time.

Downs fills a more obvious need after losing Alontae, but he needs to test well at his pro day and have clean medicals. Positional value an issue here as well.

I have no idea what to think about Bain. I'll defer to the Saints eval. If Jeff Ireland finally goes away from his edge prototype, that means they think Bain is special and have plans on how to use him and I'd be all in. If they pass, I get it, he's an outlier.

After seeing the ridiculous contracts going to WR2 and WR3 caliber players the last week, I'm starting to think Carnell Tate makes more sense at 8. Especially if we 're about to pay Olave. Would be nice to have a stacked WR room for Shough the next 3-4 years without breaking the bank.

i doubt Styles makes it to 8.. but if he does i think maybe you take him and try to trade Werner. Staley could do a lot of creative shite w an athlete like him. But again id be shocked if he makes it to 8

We need to take the best player and not try to fix a position. While our biggest need might be WR, there doesn’t seem to be that elite WR, but tons of good WRs that can be had throughout the draft.

We need the best talent. If that’s Styles, Delane, Downs, Bailey, Fano, Love or whoever. Get the best player. Fill needs like OG, NT and WR with 2nd and 3rd round picks.

I think you take Tate or Tyson at 8. Unless Bain or Bailey fall to 8. We have no legit #2 right now and haven't been looking at WR at all in FA. We can resign Jordan and be OK at DE for now because Ellis is more of a rusher at LB than Davis. Staley's style of secondary play does not necessitate the need for a shutdown CB, so you can make due with what you have starting now, pick up more depth and use Blackmon as your nickle.

I tend to agree, but Blackmon hasn’t really been the healthiest player in his career. Yes we need a WR2, but we also need depth at Edge, LB, and CB. BPA at 8 is a must.

Styles can play on the outside too and rush the passer. We can use him in so many ways. Would make our defense so dynamic and unpredictable. Honestly Kaden can play on the outside too but we probably need him on the inside

I wouldn’t hate it if Reese, Downs, Styles, and Bailey are all gone. I personally prefer Tyson and think he is by far the best receiver in the draft. He could be a true alpha and would go top 10 if it wasn’t for some injury history. It makes him a little more risky but he has top 10 receiver potential and elite traits. I see Tate as a smaller Tee Higgins type. I think he will be really good but I don’t think he has as high of a ceiling. I also hate to say it but we are seeing less and less of the tall receivers succeeding in the nfl. Most of the elite guys are between 6 FT and 6’2 with elite movement skills.

Saints will probably draft a wildcard at 8 and piss all the fans off.

We just got by ok with Riley and Koolaid on the outside, so why is it so important to replace them?

Nickel corners are easy to find

What kind of coverage do the Saints run? Did Riley and Kool Aid improve because of technique or scheme?

What kind of corner is Delane? Is it what we do? If not, can he do what we do? If we don’t use him in that way, what does his play do for the scheme?

The Downs option. I think the knee issue is overblown and he is a blue chip player in a draft that is lacking blue chips
