I'm going to defend Coby Fleener for a sec. Contract aside, i don't fault the guy.

He was a 2nd round pick coming off a rookie contract with the Colts and was the top TE in free agency that year.

I was excited about the signing and he was the answer to Jimmy Graham after he wanted $15m/yr WR money. (Irony is that Jimmy ended up getting pretty much the same contract we gave Fleener - but all that water under the bridge)

Fleener started slow but he got better. He shared the TE spot with Josh Hill and still managed 600+ yrs in 11 games with 3tds.

Then this happened...

LINK

Coby got up right away and finished the game (a f'kn man), got on the plane, went home, ate, went to bed and woke up vomiting everywhere.

Doctors said he had severe head injuries - brain damage. He was out for the season. A concussion so bad that he couldn't get cleared for months.

Next year he came back for training camp and had an "incident" which resulted in doctors telling him he could not play anymore.

So watch the "Fleener sucks" comments. In an era where players look for any reason to not play, this guy has my respect. Also 2016 was a big CTE year so NFL was like pay him and let him walk away.

Take Away -- The Rams suck - that f'cking team can burn in hell.

That is all.

I'm almost ready to give up the experiment we've been running at TE with Juwan. Carr has always made his TE's targets of priority. Juwan hasn't been that all this year. I know Brock Bowers is a pipe dream, but man he would kill in the offense.

Too bad that we didnt have a chance to draft Mayer, LaPorta, or Musgrave. Oh wait...

Sure they are.... look at the QB position, the Oline, etc. The saints are harboring charity cases.

Cook signing was way worse! Then Flener. Moreau’s deal is not bad and he’s supposed to be the backup to forever injured Johnson.

Thank you for that context. I didn't realize he was brought in to be a backup. We've been hurting at that position for a long time.

Yes, all of that. Fleener was a signing was terrible but I’m not going to crush the guy for having several concussions.

A side note, I saw him at the zoo one time and he’s a yuge dude.

Moreau is like 5 months out of cancer treatment. The fact he is even playing makes this a moot point

oh for fricks sake. This isn't middle school basketball. I guess we should give him a participation trophy? Surviving cancer doesn't give him an excuse to frick the saints in multiple games. Cancer or no cancer he has to live up to the same standards as every other NFL player. I'm sure he'd tell you the same thing

Not Moreau.

By the way, when is the last time there has been a Jimmy Graham sighting?

Fleener was a worse signing just because of how much he cost, but Moreau has sucked.

Do you follow the saints? The experiment has just begun, he signed a huge extension already.

No one is questioning his toughness. But he had some of the worse hands for a so called pass catching te. Sorry that happened to him but he was a horrible signing.

Only one of the three was on the board and he hasn’t been lighting the world on fire.

I wanted Mayer or Branch in the 2nd. LaPorta has easily been the best of the bunch. But Mayer’s blocking is better.

They fricked up passing on Branch.

Moreau has been a decent blocker and is probably a better contract than oft-injured Juwan Johnson (2 yr, $12M).

He missed one game last year and had his first significant injury this year and now he's considered oft-injured?

Fleener caught 50 balls in 2016. Moreau wont even come CLOSE to that in the next 2 years.

Then I guess he's not doing too bad with 11 receptions on 12 targets for the season.
