With Okafor, Robinson, and Davis signed..

Does this free up possibly taking best player available in the draft in the first round?
Also, if we get Suh, I would definitely expect us to do whatever it takes to possibly move up for a quarterback if at all possible. If not I want either another pass-rusher, wide receiver, or tight end.

But why? It’s clear we’re going all in to win it this year. Drafting a QB (and moving up to do so at that) that we won’t plan on playing for another few years doesn’t fit the “all in” approach. Plus we don’t have a 2nd round pick so what more would moving up cost us?
If we sign Suh I definitely think we go offense but not QB.

Depends. I don’t feel like we are done in FA yet.
Our D still needs some playmakers, although we have added some nice players. Assuming we don’t get Suh we still need more depth at DT and possibly another DE. There’s no telling when Okafor will be ready. We also need more athleticism at LB and wouldn’t be opposed to drafting another one at 27.
We also desperately need another WR and TE.
However, if we sign another WR and maybe a guy like Hankins or Kony Ealy it will put us in a great position to not have to reach on anyone at any position and just add talent

This is what I think too, but it also feels like a minority opinion on this board.

I think it depends on if mayfield falls to a reachable pick for us to grab him in a trade. Other than that, we are in for this year.

Yea. Considering that the jets just gave up to move three spots we absolutely do not have the ammo for even a top 10 pick. It’s really not debatable.
So unless “our guy” drops into the range of 15 it’s simply not going to be a QB.

I think it's really only because Sean Payton has been so giddy over Mayfield like he's the next Romo. If SP wasn't, maybe the board wouldn't be as in-line with stashing a QB for a year, maybe two. I think they feel it's just an obvious/inevitable move by the staff to try to attempt to acquire Mayfield, and they've just accepted it.
Because in order for Payton to have the luxury of stashing a QB that won't play this year, he knows he'd have to give up a lot of draft picks, so he can't rely on the draft to add depth to weak positions. He would have to solidify positions thru Free Agency. It appears that's exactly what he has been trying to do for the past week. Thus, the majority of this board sees this as the transparent blue-print for acquiring their future QB.
Personally, I'd rather use our draft picks for this year's run, and maybe go after Shea Patterson next year, or Tua the year after that. But I'm not a Super Bowl winning coach either.

Man I read this as Emeka Okafor and Anthony Davis.

You go all in the win while drew is here playing well.
Once he retires tank a year and draft you’re guy.
Rarely does the 5th QB off the board amount to anything. For every Tom Brady there is a hundred other 7th rounders who never threw a pass.
You’re actually much more likely to get an elite starter early in the first than groom a guy.

Saying you might want to use our draft picks for Mayfield is the reason we’re using FA to fill weak spots on the roster is dumb. We should always use FA to fill weak spots. It has nothing to do with moving up in the draft. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL WE HAVE ENOUGH AMMO TO MOVE UP TO GET MAYFIELD AND TRY TO WIN NOW. QUIT DREAMING. ITS NOT HAPPENING.

I agree. Because they're going all in this year to win the Super Bowl, now is the time to "mortgage the future" becuase our draft pick next season will be between 30-32. Chances of finding a player that late isnt high. You can get a Ramczyk but you have a higher % of getting a Stephone Anthony.
Trading this years 1st & 3rd, and next years 1st isn't going to put a huge dent into this team.
Everyone saying "keep the picks, build for the future", what future are y'all talking about? The future is NOW.

If he makes it out of the top ten, I could see us doing a trade like the Chiefs did last year to get Mahomes. 1st and 3rd this year and a 1st next year. It might seem steep, particularly being that we don't have a 2nd this year, but if you have a chance to get a guy that you think can be a franchise QB, you have to try to get him. They are rare and we have been spoiled with Drew. I think our team is set up well. I think we are in a great position to absorb giving up those pick because we have a ton of young talent on the team.
I understand we have a two year window with Brees, but what's to say that if we draft a QB, year two doesn't become a "handing off the torch" type season so to speak with Drew and a new QB.
It all depends on if 1) there is a QB that the Saints like that they can move up to get 2) if they do take a QB how quickly would he develop and be ready to take over as the starter 3) Would Drew be willing to take on the mentoring role for a season.
All that said, I personally don't think Mayfield or another top QB will be within the range that we can trade up to get. Too many teams are moving up the board to position themselves to get one of the 4 top QBs.

I think people are underestimating how long it might take to find a QB. This team has SO much young talent. The thought of drew retiring and then ya wasting even two years of them searching for his successor makes me sick. If they really believe Mayfield could be the guy then I support going to get him for that reason.

QB- I think I feel differently from most...but feel that the off-season Brees leaves us, we could pick up the 2nd or 3rd best QB on the market and be really good still as long as we continue to build around him.
Yes that will cost more than a young guy, but I feel no need to pick a QB early while in win now mode. Late round only.
