most concerning part about this all.

McCoy seems to be regressing a tad.
Money on a sure thing in Edwards that isn't appearing to help much.
Banks may be something worthwhile but there's zero encouragement in the ability of the staff to coach up.
Fuaga appears to be going down the shitter.
Ruiz i'm assuming will be a june 1st cut next yr.

Thanks for the insight. I agree on all that but I just see offensive lines around the league with less talent playing better.

The real kick in the nuts is that the Saint FO has focused in the Draft on that very part of the roster for some years now. The fact that the project has crashed into total failure is very demoralizing.

These are good players save for Richards and wright. Even with yhe backups it should be this bad.

This is a scheme/play callling/sequencing issue

It appears they are serious about getting better in the bye week

While true, they did focus a lot on the o-line, they put minimal effort into the depth of the o-line.

Saints started the season with 3 1st round draft picks, 1 2nd rounder, and Edwards (who was a 5th rounder for the Rams).

They are now starting 2 5th rounders, 1 1st rounder, 1 2nd rounder, and 1 4th rounder.

And that remaining 1st rounder played well at his drafted position his rookie year, then was moved to RT and has been struggling since.

Fuaga, McCoy and Ruiz were all drafted for quite a different offensive system

Granted McCoy had shown the capacity to adapt until recently.

Richards is a back up for a reason and Wright should be still learning to be a pro, but he has potential.

Edwards was their hand picked top FA, but not having a supporting case will make you look like less than you really are. I still have confidence if the line play as a whole improves he will be shown to be the best of them.

Kubiack had a better run game here with less. it is absolutely on coaching.

McCoy was on PFF All Pro first team on the list they released recently. He’s been the top graded center in pass pro and in the top half of run blocking

Kinda is. Only 3 starters left from the top 6 olineman week one.
The play calling and coaching are all suspect as well.

I think its scheme and lack of effort. Specifically for the run game, Moore tries a lot of zone blocking and using motion tight ends as blockers on the edge. The oline keeps getting whooped on zone blocks and the TE's miss a lot of the edge blocks they are asked to make.

Kubiak pulled his guards and even tackles more getting them in space ahead of the running backs or overloading sides of the defense. The o line still sucked then but they had more success getting someone like Penning out ahead of Kamara and asking him to get blocks on DB's and LB's.

Kubiaks system was more advanced. Moore's is doing what most of the other NFL teams try to do.

Pass blocking is where I say there is a lack of effort. and nastiness. Pass blocking basically comes down to who can win a fight in a phone booth and our dudes get whooped more then they win. It's sad how soft they are at one on one pass blocks.

Losing Banks also hurt while Fuaga has regressed. Even with Ruiz's faults he has way more experience then the rookie and experience is worth something.

Lastly, The offense is predictable and predictable does not work in the NFL. We haven't tried much misdirection, play action, or screens.

They have obvious tells. The other team knows when it's a run. Also, Shough isn't making adjustments at the line except for the ones communicated to him by the coaching staff, so defenses just wait until there's less than 15 seconds left on the play clock to shift alignment and show a different look. Shough doesn't adjust, and the play gets stuffed.

We seem to be exempting the RBs. I think they share in part of it.

Why we kept Kendre Miller over Estime boggles the mind. . I 've never been a Kendre Miller fan. Also, Alvin zKamara needs to be done after this year.
