I'm fricking confused. So many other o.c.s have been let go/coaches fired yet our 22nd ranked offense is still employing Pete.

Maybe the Saints really want to tank?

I think he takes another job within the organization, which is why he hasn't been fired. We know he didn't even want the job.

why do you want him to? Dennis Allen hired him so frick them, they fix it together or get fired together. The offense was without a lot of players throughout season so they do have a few valid excuses.

He’s waiting on Sean Payton to take a coaching job so he can go. The Saints are showing gratitude to him by not firing him and just letting him take another job.

DA and Pete are placeholders. They are there to occupy the slot and keep the machine running. The franchise is making money. It's a business, and when businesses are making money they are considered to be doing OK.

Fans and the way that fans look at a business like this one have no idea how the owners and managers view the business.

This business sells Dreams and people are still buying the Dream that the Saints can be quickly built into a legit SB-bound football team.

I think they are "allowing" him to pursue other opportunities before they make a change

The Saints lucked out when the Payton-Brees Era fell from the sky onto NOLA.

The powers that be are apparently patiently waiting for this kind of era to once again fall from the sky.

First, I read somewhere that Dennis wanted a different o.c. and mgmt said no Pete stays.

Second, how the frick does that make sense? Dennis is a head coach, if he thinks our shite offense needs improving it needs improving.

Playcalling was abysmal this year.

they don't always get to have an open check book to fix their mistakes.

in the end, the payton chip probably needs to fall first then something may be in the works BUT in the meantime, we're losing the race to the prime targets.

Well he was only hired to maintain continuity, which means he will be subject to that continuity himself.

Probably like most things in life you make sure what you're getting into is better than what your getting out of.

Besides if CDA is not getting fired then what's the real point?

Just thinking out loud:

What OC of any worth would want this job?

Any up and comer or bright Offensive mind will steer 100 miles clear of this one.

No QB
No real path to get one of worth currently
Coach that is on thin ice

I agree with this but when there's only 32 of these jobs available, I think someone takes the chance.

Maybe even best case they get a chance to audition for future HC job

I dont know the dude, maybe a good guy, but how is he not fired by now. No matter who was healthy playing , the play calling was awful.

Season tix holders should boycott.
