Why didn’t we keep Jameis Winston as our QB?

For what we’ve been through the past few years, we couldn’t have been any worse and at least we would have had a QB to rally around. Thinking about that as he starts for the Giants this week.

Miss that dude.

He punked the Falcons. DA had to apologize.

It really baffles me how stupid Saints fans are

I love Jameis as a backup and funny guy in the locker room…….but there is a fricking reason that he hasn’t gotten another starting job anywhere.

NO ONE came calling for him after DA benched him, and he re-signed here. He is definitely an entertaining character…..but he’s not a starting QB.

It was the same thing with the Rattler fanboys in this fanbase…..they wanted him to be the starter so fricking bad that they couldn’t use common fricking sense

He’s just not all that good. I felt ok about him while Payton was here thinking he could work some magic with him but, he’s pretty shot now

He kind of wasn't very good after he got injured. He either physically or mentally wasn't over his injury and it led to some bad performances that led many to believe that he was done.

I guess Kellen Moore has no common sense either since he started him half the year.

I don’t get the fascination with him.
I do recall mocking him weekly for his eat a W schtick when he was a Buc.
Guy came here, had a few good games, got injured, and then Payton left. Next season, Winston looked like dog shite, primarily because Payton, who clearly reigned in Winston’s propensity to make stupid decisions, was gone.
Well Payton ain’t coming back. Why in the hell would we want Winston?

He’s not that great. Turnover machine, as well.

Bridgewater would have been the guy to keep.

I thought he was off to a good start the year he hurt his knee.
The team was playing well. CSP knew how to call plays that played to Winston’s strengths, and he was making fewer mistakes. That season went down the chute after he got hurt.

You about to see why. He’s not good As much as I wanted DA gone when he decided to score a touchdown instead of kneeling down like his coach told him too, I knew it was time for him to go

2021 was the Jameis we all want to remember. We were 4-2 going into the Tom Brady game. Jameis had thrown 14 TD/3 interceptions on the season. Then that dirty MF Devin White horse collared JW and ended our season.

We could've tanked with Jameis and gotten one of drake maye, Caleb Williams, or jayden daniels, Malik, bo nix, etc.

I was insulted constantly by saying we could've kept him for cheap instead of being 3 years behind on a rebuild because of Dork Carr.

But Dork ‘fast lane’ Carr was such an improvement. And they signed him for peanuts. He will surely be back starting in the NFL one day. You’ll see. You’ll see.
