I'd ask the board this...who would you see Mingo compared to- if say he develops.

If someone says Von Miller they deserved to be bitch slapped.

I think he has more Vernon Gloston in him than people care to admit

In terms of production, they aren't that close. It's Jones.

Good thing I was comparing him to Jordan.

If I had to choose though, jarvis jones with "medical conditions" was clearly the best player out of the main 4 we've been mocking to go top 15.

Now in terms of potential, I still think its jones. I just don't put so much emphasis on most of the combine compared to football IQ and I think jones has it.

I would bet my 401K he doesn't sniff Ware's jockstrap. He might get 10 sacks a season or two just from situational pass rushing. But he's so damn raw and the Saints don't need a project. They need a player

It's funny cause I was posting about that earlier today. Mingo is a little shorter (less than 2 inches) and weighs 7 lbs less than Jordan yet people are jocking Jordan and putting him as high as #2 and Mingo could fall to the Saints at #15. They were both special at the combine and were nearly identical #s.

Personally, I want Jones, but if Jones is gone and Mingo is there I'd be happy with him.

Nor does he have a tenth the lower body strength Smith has and never dominated in college like Smith did.

Mingo was a big reason why LSU beat A&M.. Jordan, Mingo, Ziggy are going to be needed to defend RG3, Kaep, R Wilson, Manziel (in 2 years). GMs know that, and that's why they will be picked early. Mingo shouldn't leave the top 10

The lack of production with elite talent around him last year is a bad sign.

I'd still rather have him compared to an offensive player, tho.

and as big of a reason we lost to bama two in a row. He would rather play pattycakes with a slow 370 lber known to be abused by speed rushers than risk getting planted on the ground by attempting to make a play.

I'll just say that I'm indifferent. If they got him, meh. If they didn't, it wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

He played out of position. He'll be a 34 OLB.

Mingo is a class act. Will be a great guy for the club house. I would be happy to have him as a Saint. Star, Jones, and Mingo would all make me happy.

If Mingo wasn't a Tiger, I would really be against the idea of drafting him. I would also make the Gholston comparison. But actually a lot less production in college than Gholston.

Even still. Seems like such a great athlete would have run wild on some of the smaller schools we played.
