Derick Johnson is the one that hurts the most. I was certain we were trading up for him, but went with Jammal Williams.

I’m sure you’re speaking of Jammal Brown, OT from OU...you had me lost for a second lol.

Really wanted Jarvis Landry instead of Stanley Jean-Baptiste

Stanley Jean-Baptiste

A byproduct of the "tall CB" trend of 3-5 years ago. We also got duped into Browner of similar skill set.

Now under 6 ft quick twitch WRs are dominating the league

A hilarious I remember was Saints taking Patrick Robinson or Sergio Kindle. Yep, shows what I know.

Leodis McElvin. I don't know why. I heard an interview with him on NFL radio before the draft and thought he'd be a good addition to the Saints.

He was ok but nothing great.

I think they would have taken tyrann if we had a 2 round pick that year the goodell took from the alleged bounty thing.

Tyrann didn’t need and didn’t want to be anywhere near New Orleans

Well they should hire you as a scout. Every player you want them to draft apparently ends up as a pro bowler

Yup loved Leodis. Another CB I fell in love with was Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, small school combine freak. Still plays nickel for NYG and made a few pro bowls early in his career.

Last year:
Foster > Ramczyk - purely because I figured Strief played so well in 2016 that he'd be here for another 2 years. Hard to unseat a top 5 RT.

Zach Cunningham > Marcus Williams - a lot of us were high on Cunningham and he was considered late 1st-early 2nd by some. Had the talent to be an every-down LBer and we just drafted Bell last year. Talent-wise we had more safety than linebackers at this point. We also needed a DE, but all the good ones got reached for in the late 1st so it wasn't a wise decision.

Derek Rivers > Alex Anzalone - still had no pass rusher at this point and I thought he'd become a stud. Might be, but both ended up injured.

Any C or G over Stanley Jean Baptiste in 14
This was an incredibly deep draft for those positions and was a position of incredible need at that time

Brian Cushing over Malcolm Jenkins in 09. Worked out ok after Cushings failed drug tests. This was also a position of great need for the longest time

After 4-5 years of terrible drafts by the Saints, Ireland has knocked it out of the park the last 2 years. I can’t wait to see what he does this year.
