I really have not done a deep dive on this draft at all. I started messing around with some mock drafts and realized I didn’t know shite about the guys in those middle rounds.

So, who are the mid round picks that you have interest in, and why?

Mohammed Barry - Linebacker - Nebraska

He is projected to be a 5th round pick. Should be able to help in special teams immediately. Plays with a relentless motor and energy. Has shown plus coverage skills.

PROS: Has excellent burst from sideline to sideline. Doesn't labor in space and can make plays at all levels of the field. When he sees it, he is full speed ahead. Closes in an instant -- shows impressive stopping power. A tone-setter, physically. Doesn't hesitate to fill lanes and attack the ball carrier. Closes in an instant. Motor is relentless. Not sure if there is a 2020 linebacker prospect I have watched so far that plays with his kind of energy on the field. Always finds himself around the ball. Shows flashes of coverage potential -- despite limited reps.

CONS: Lack of length shows up a lot on film. Inconsistent finisher simply because of his narrow tackling radius. Needs to keep himself free in order to have an impact because his lack of length keeps him occupied on blocks. A physical SOB, but it works to his detriment plenty of times. Often overruns pursuit lanes and is impatient in his reads. More of a guesser than a processor at this stage of his development. When he slows the game down and follows his keys, he is special to watch, but that was few and far between on tape.

I would only be disappointed if I held out any hope of the players I want in this draft from later rounds. With that said it probably will be a no name player from a lesser program who has a higher ceiling than floor. The popular (.ie local players) familiar to most have almost no chance of being drafted by the Saints.

4. Moss TE LSU
5. Logan Stenberg G Kentucky
6. LA'Mical Perine RB Florida

Perine would be a great late-round pick.

I've always liked him at Florida and think he is underrated

Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland

4* coming out, dinged bc of injury concerns, fits bc he wouldn’t have to be a bell cow here

John Hightower, WR, Boise St

Field stretcher type, can take the ball on jet sweeps, has some room to grow into his ceiling.

Would love to get Van Jefferson. I think he can play immediately and be productive. Fantastic route runner. Probably a third rounder though. Like duvernay too but he may need a little more time to develop.

Another guy I like is Netane Muti from Fresno state. I’m not sure if he is right for us bc we already have enough injury prone players but if he could stay healthy he would be a monster. Super powerful nasty guard that loves to dominate and finish his opponents. Had 44 bench press reps in the draft and has good athleticism. If it wasn’t for his injury history which is significant and cost him a lot of games then he could be in consideration as the best guard in the draft.

Hoping for Amik Robertson, preferably we move up to the top of the 4th if he drops there. And I’d take Willie Gay with our 3rd if he’s there.

I think he will be a good one. Sneaky late pick IMO.

Looking at K.J. Hill with our third pick. Fills that WR need and can play special teams.

Akeem Davis Gathier- App State. Rangy and fast LB who gives you everything you like in Patrick Queen but at much better value

Joe Reed- UVA. Really like this kid. Smart, knows where to be

McTelvin Agim- Arkansas. Really disruptive interior defensive lineman. Watch this dude's tape. He is just effing things up constantly
