Nothing bothered me all that much until the last couple of years. They really leaned into treating fans like they are idiots.
Yes. You can't hold resentment towards the Saints team because we are the Saints and knowing that we could frick up a wet dream is one of the things that comes along with being a Saints fan.
However, Mickey and Gayle being arrogant pricks and gaslighting the fanbase while doubling down on their horrendous management of the franchise is what really pisses me off. The moment that put me over the edge is when DA wasn't fired after the Arthur Smith fiasco.

I began to resent the Saints when Teddy led a 5-game winning streak, but Sean Payton brought Drew back and disrupted the chemistry built with Teddy.
Teddy is a great dude……but you are a fricking moron if you believe that Teddy was EVER, IN ANY WAY, better than Drew. FFS this is the dumbest fricking fanbase on the planet. I bet you believe Rattler was the guy as well…….and Jameis

I understood the kicking the can down the road strategy when you have a guy like Brees. I even understood trying to maintain a talented team and try to compete while looking for the next QB.
It was still the right way to go.
What screwed us was bad drafting. And trading draft picks when cap hell was high on the horizon. That was going full retard.

The Jacob Blake bullshite was the only thing i can really think of.
The no call, the kneeling, and the Jacob Blake shite, took out A LOT of my passion for football in general.
The absolute idiocy, and entitlement, of these players over a false narrative…..showed me what I needed to see. I haven’t been to a CFB or NFL game since.
I still watch (I guess because I have been since I was 4, and I am 44 now), but the burning passion for it is gone.

Apparently reading isn't your strongest trait.

For me Ricky Bell and the pink and orange tampon bay buccaneers winning their first game in franchise history. Ended a 26 game losing streak.

But those 2 years with Dennis really made me fed up and just didn't care much until he was gone. Would be great if Loomis was gone too but thats probably not happening anytime soon
I have similar sentiments, and don’t forget Loomis still didn’t want to fire Allen. Gayle had to do it. Thats when I knew for certain this team won’t win anything as long as he remains GM.
Who Dat, forever tho.

A few years after the SuperBowl win.
I realized that the Loomis Brees Payton circle jerk was an unnaturally unique and detrimental alliance
All unfirable
All should have been gone years before they left.
We are still stuck with Loomis forever
I’ve been ridiculed on this board for years because of that opinion.

The way some of Brees' teammates of color very publicly threw him under the bus over all that Jacob Blake bull shite flipped the switch to "off" immediately for me on the Saints and I never turned it back on.
I dont remember what Drew said that was so offensive. I dont even remember whether I agreed or disagreed. All I remember was several prominent team members pissing all over Drew about it. Why not be real men and talk with him in private about it? For all the good Drew did for the city and the franchise, I think he deserved that much. I refuse to root for guys like that.
And on top of that, Michael Thomas was in full cock-sucker phase. I couldn't reconcile rooting for a team with that a-hole on it either.

Yea, when Malcolm Jenkins threw Brees under the bus for not bending the knee to some “woke” bullshite stuff in 2020, that was the end for me. Brees bent the knee, and the rest was history. Went from carving out 3 hours every Sunday or Monday night for 25-30 years glued to the TV being so invested to complete apathy. The demise of the team since then only accelerated my disinterest. I’ve watched some here and there the last 4 years, but I don’t even give them a second thought when they’re playing.
Now, my 8-year old son might change that if he starts showing interest in the team. He enjoys watching LSU football, but hasn’t developed fandom for the Saints yet.

The no call and CSP, Loomis, Gayle, and RG bringing in Malcolm Jenkins to destroy Drew Brees and his legacy in the name of virtue signaling and BLM.
Posted on 11/27/25 at 12:13 pm to caill430
When CSP let Malcolm Jenkins throw his starting quarterback under the bus publicly instead of keeping that stupid shite in the locker room. Then having the team put Jacob Blake's name on their helmets. CSP doesn't get enough hate for that.
The Rams no call, even if that wasn't the Saints' fault. This is when I stopped giving the NFL money.
Then the "next coach is already in the building" Dennis Allen stuff.
The finisher was Gayle having the team PR staff help the diocese try to cover up child diddling by priests.

I was nine and weeding a garden listening to the game on a radio in NO East. It broke my heart play by play.
I knew the difference between the raiders and the bucs.

You’re saying the Saints broke you in the 70s?
You didn’t come around during the Payton and Drew era? wtf are you talking about?

Most recently, when Gayle decided to cape up for Mickey Loomis and tell everyone that all was well with the Saints and things are really looking up during our rebuild. Getting rid of Mickey would be "ridiculous", as I recall her saying.
That is when I gave up and started to actively pull against my beloved home town team......the owner drove me to do this.
