No love for Brian Milen's fumble recovery of the muffed punt vs the Rams in the 2000 playoffs???

It only locked up out FIRST EVER PLAYOFF VICTORY

Even though I was at the Super Bowl and not the NFC championship, I still was more moved by the NFC championship field goal than the Porter INT.

The onside kick in the Super Bowl should make the bottom portion of the top ten, just because it is never done in a Super Bowl.

My number 1 is Hartley's kick

1. Hartley FG
2. Porter Pick SB
3. Porter Pick NFCCG
4. "Hakeem dropped the ball!"
5. Gleason's block

You can argue about the order, but IMHO there is no question these are the greatest moments in Saints history.

Then:

6. Goal line stand against Steelers
7. Dempsey FG
8. Gilliam TD return

Hartly kick for me. 1st time I ever kneeled down on the ground in the stands at the Dome.

I've been a fan since '86, but my memory is shaky on the '87 Minn playoff game, other than we got creamed. What was special about that TD? Not debating it. Just really don't know

The Vikings fumbled on like the 2nd play of the game. 2 plays later we scored. That place went insane. We took the lead in the first minute of the game and we thought we were going to coast.

Obviously we were wrong.

the game was a disaster and putting any play from it on this list is worse than including the River City Relay

Yeah. Saints were 12-3 in their first ever playoff game and they go up 7-0. The Dome erupted. I was there. HUGE play and given the setting and situation it is my top 10.

River City Relay

Shouldn't count, if you remember what happened next.

what does that have to do with anything? you wouldn't believe the way i was jumping up and down lol. the XP was a separate play.

actually missing it helped us remember the play better. if we made it then played OT after the River City Relay would be almost forgotten by now. instead we get the ultimate high followed by the ultimate low in football

that's why my favorite plays are those last second desperation plays, like when you see 10 laterals and you're just trying to keep hope alive lol...

My top 10:

1) Hartley's FG to win the NFC Championship

2) Porter's pick of Favre moments earlier

3) Porter's SB pick 6. (I have to put it at #3 because it doesn't happen without the other two.)

4) Milne's recovery of Hakim's fumble. (Won the Saints their first playoff game ever and may likely have prevented one of the ALLTIME Saints collapses.)

5) Johnathan Vilma's late 4th down stop at Atlanta last year. That game sent the Saints to 13- 0 and ultimately made the difference in the Saints getting HFA.

6) The goal line stand at Pittsburgh, 1987.

7) Gilliam's kickoff return TD.

8) Dempsey's FG. Who would have thought that 40 years later, he'd still be sharing that record?

9) Hebert to Turner late 4th down TD to beat Seattle, 1991 . Dramatic play in the season opener sends Saints off to what would be their best start until last year and to their first division title.

10) Dalton Hilliard TD vs. Rams, maybe 1987. Never have been able to find highlites of it but there was one year against the Rams in LA when Hilliard broke off a sick TD against them. He seemed to break half a dozen tackles on that play.

Moments, maybe, as far as clock time. Holy cow. Even though PT had that long KO return, getting yards chunk by chunk and there were, what, 2 or 3 replays? And THEN the wait for Hartley to kick the game winner? I think that OT lasted longer than the entire playoffs

Actually it was Jan. 4 of '88 I believe. Found 2 tickets THE MORNING OF THE GAME in the Times Pic. for........$50 a ticket!
The reason I have this play in my list is because the build-up and pre-game to that game was UNFRICKING BELIEVABLE. And when Martin caught the pass in the right corner of the end zone - it was easily the loudest crowd noise since Dempsey's kick, and rivals the blocked punt vs Atlanta in '06, Hakim dropped the ball, and Hartley's FG for loudness.
