We are literally 2 fluke plays away from having two super bowl appearances in the last 3 years. Our team was playing lights out and came out flat against the Vikings. It is not like we feasted on bottom dwellers and barely made it into the playoffs.

I just question this team psychologically. We're back to disaster syndrome.

All the demons put to rest in 2009 are back and as bad as ever.

I dont think is blowing it up. We still have a good defense to play with and could get some veteran players to fill in.

The thinking is to set the team up for future success. Brees ain’t getting any younger and most don’t think he can hold up over a 19-20 game season that it’d take to win a Super Bowl. He’s got 1-2 years left then what? We’re a couple plays from potential consecutive Super Bowls, but it didn’t happen. It’s not gonna get any easier to do so with Brees and certainly without him.

We are going nowhere fast without a franchise QB. It’s required for long term success in this league. Burrow offers stability (and potentially more greatness) at the team’s most important position. Kamara would be tough to lose, but the reality is RBs are a dime a dozen with short shelf lives. Thomas is a MUCH bigger piece than him and I’d say the single most important player on the team at the moment.

I hope we would be able to get a decent WR later that could develop in SPs system, just like Colston did too

Hope in one hand, shite in the other... see which one fills up first

Because effectively punting one season to be competitive the next 15 seasons is an idea anyone who is a fan of the actual team should be for.

The plans talked about are going to set this team back at least 4-5 IMO. We will lose a lot of core via not being able to pay them, plus cheap talent won't be available because we will have no first or second round picks. If it was a one season tank it would be one thing, but there is no way this process is under a 4-5 year rebuild.

Wrong.

A QB on a rookie contract gives you the ultimate flexibility in either going for it immediately, or feeling things out.

Its a 30million dollar cap savings voucher

Or it could just set your franchise back years. There is a reason good QBs are paid a lot of money

For every Patrick Mahomes or Deshaun Watson there are an EJ Manuel, Paxton Lynch, Christian Ponder, Tim Tebow, Brandon Weeden, Jake Locker, Manziel, Bortles, Rosen, Gabbert, RG3, etc, And those are only recent 1st rd picks. There are better odds your rookie QB is a career backup vs a career starter.

Considering Brees still has it, you have some time to make a calculated decision on a successor. I promise you SP has a plan, and it doesnt include moving away from Brees until he says he's done.

oe Burrow is NFL ready and living life without AK is not hard. MT13 would be hardest to replace but its just a price well worth of obtaining a dream scenario Joe Burrow.

Burrow is NFL ready but the cost to get him in NOLA would likely ruin his career before or has a chance to get started.

Reading all of his weapons just to get him is a recipe for disaster.

I think the argument is that the Saints with Brees are now a very good but not great team. Good enough to get into the playoffs. Not good enough to win a SB.

Oh I think the Saints are good enough to win.

I have little doubt they would have won last year had the no PI not happened.

I bet it's even worse when you look at all the first round QBs in that same span and do a where are they now.

How do you even think the Saints get into a position that matters most?

You think Taysom Hill is a NFL starter based on preseason game.

You have terrible logic and understanding of the game mate

The argument is stupid. You still have a window right now, to close it for a chance, not a guarantee, of a window for a decade is stupid.
