Jameis had a lot more at the beginning of season than taysom during his stretch. Regardless, i guess you're admitting that not having an offense to play with does in fact matter.

I never denied it did but why don't we measure the quarterback by what they have actually done on the field. And you can't say "well jameis has had aoot more snaos than taysom" And? That's not jameis fault, that actually kind makes my point, taysom wasn't Good enough for someone to take a chance on him at quarterback. Then guess what, Payton promised it was his team after Brees and what happens as soon as drew is gone? Jameis gets the job.
Do yall see something that Payton, Allen, and every other coach, scout, trainer and gm doesn’t?

Not saying he's going to be this guy, but seems his career is taking a somewhat similar path.

Yes he was a QB who went undrafted and was only on a PS until he made our roster for special teams. So yeah, technically he’s a QB but he’s not an NFL one

Being a successful coordinator at any level, much less the NFL, for nearly a decade is not something Orgeron ever came close to having as far as resume pre-2016. Terrible comparison, especially since his “miraculous championship run” was AFTER he became LSU head coach.
Do you not see with the defenses the past several years, the strongest part of the Saints team, that Allen is clearly better than when we was HC last? Which was years ago for a terrible franchise

Thus is a little disingenuous also. Why is he transitioning to TE? It’s not because he’s better at QB. So really the first statement that he was a TE playing QB still stands. He was out of position for the NFL.

Well clearly your mind is made up that Dennis Allen is going to fail, but I will play along.
He failed as Raiders coach- You could say that it was more of owner Mark Davis calling the shots. I think he didn't have many draft picks his first year. And he was bringing players to " Oakland " in the crappy stadium
( Bill Belicheck didn't have good outing as first time head coach either)
He has had a Super Bowl caliber defense the last few years.
Just strange BS from " No Call" , Kyle Rudolf Pushoff, Minny Miracle, and TE Cooks being Tampas MVP.
His defense helped keep last year's injured plagued team capable of making the playoffs had 49ers not beat the Rams.
His defense shut out Tom Brady and relatively healthy Tampa team. This w/ injured Hill at QB and only one drafted WR starting, scoring 9 points w/ backup Kicker
Keeping the same offense and defense from the last few years ( Continuity in the program goes along way. )
I'm impressed with the draft, not sure if both first round pics will work out, but both filled much needed positions and come relatively cheap.
Signed a veteran like Honey Badger. Talent might be reduced with age. But he brings leadership for locker room, Experience, Super Bowl experience, and hometown team pride.
Who is to say he will not learn from his past mistake?
I am actually more encouraged than I would be had we brought in a hot shot young coach with a different playbook, different coaches, don't know the culture of the city and it's fanbase.
So be positive for a change. Let's see what happens after this season.
