He had an absolutely putrid tenure as head coach of the Raiders.

Also, in the one game where he acted as head coach last year, our offense sputtered and never made it into the end zone.

I’m not believing it until I see it in reference to him being an improved head coach. He’s basically Ed Orgeron 2.0, except without a miraculous championship run.

His leadership shut down one of the best offenses in the league and won the game with a tight end playing QB with no legit receivers

This is a disingenuous take. Taysom is a QB who is just now making a transition to TE.

Also, you can’t hope to win many games by only scoring 9 points on 3 field goals.

Only coordinated one of the best defensive units in the league for the past 5 years. The Saints were literally a healthy QB and decent receivers away from the Super Bowl during that time. And he's a defensive coach...it wasn't his job to make the offense go. And I think Carmichael did a bang up job considering he had JV players to work with that week.

One could argue that his time with the Raiders was bad to to horrible roster management that was apparent before he took the job. It was a straight rebuild job that he wasn't given a chance to finish. Derek Carr was drafted in his tenure. Another 2-3 years there and Allen's legacy would have been much different.

He has been the DC for the best stretch of Saints defenses in the history of the franchise. The defense under him has developed all of these draft picks:

Marshon Lattimore
Marcus Williams
CJGJ
David Onyemata
Vonn Bell
Trey Hendrickson
Sheldon Rankins
Marcus Davenport
Paulson Adebo
Alex Anzalone
Al-Quadin Muhammed
Payton Turner
Pete Warner
PJ Williams
Tyeler Davison
Ken Crawley (UDFA)
Shy Tuttle (UDFA)

OP must not remember the wasted 7-9 teams where we had the worst defense in the history of the NFL.

Clearly I don’t expect to win games only scoring in field goals considering we have an above average/solid QB coming back and two solid receivers assuming Olave is going to be good.

In fairness 1st time head coaches can often fail and then find success on a second run. Plus he was stuck with the fricking Raiders.

With that said, DA was hated on here a couple of years ago.

He wasn't very good the first few years as Saints DC, but he didn't have much talent defensively like he has had the past couple of seasons. But he knows this Saints team as well as Payton and has HC experience, but most importantly he knows the city and the unique relationship that they have with the team.

If you were the Saints coach and you had to make a decision on 1 position only for TH, would it be QB or TE? Exactly....stop with this nonsense.

imagine if he had an offense to play with half of his starts.

So your point is Allen is to be blamed for the Saints’ offensive performance against the Bucs last year, even though he clearly had nothing to do with that side of the ball until a few days earlier when Payton was ruled out because of Covid. Is this really your point??

You probably thought Simien was a good qb as well. To each his own.

That’s irrelevant. It doesn’t change the fact that Taysom is a QB who is now transitioning to TE and learning that position.

You’re the one who needs to stop with the nonsensical statements.

Trevor played some good ball in some tough spots for us last year. I have no idea what your end game is with anything aside from being all around stupid.

Once again, your point is irrelevant
. Siemian wasn’t the QB during the game that Dennis Allen coached as head coach last year.
