1. Drew Brees maintaining his status quo with his age and arm strength.
2. Demario Davis transitioning from another team and having same impact here he previously had.
3. Rush Edge impact opposite Cam Jordan
4. Running back health, Ingram and Kamara and exceptional and our offense blossoms when both are fully engaged on offense
5. Offensive Line health throughout season.

Defense playing as well as they did last year.

In this regime's tenure, defense has been the most inconsistent thing.

OL health should be a little higher. TE play especially in the pass game, and hopefully the WRs can work at an even higher level this year.

Both of these mainly bc QB is the most important position by far.

Lattimore health. Defense is night and day with him in the game.

6. Defensive backfield health. Definitely a vast improvement from previous seasons to 2017. Now, with more depth added at CB and Safety, they should be even more improved and become one of the league's best backfields. As usual, health is a key factor.

What are you confused about? That they did not add more depth or that my statement did not make sense?

1. Offensive line depth. One injury & this team is toast IMO. I only slightly trust Bushrod in a pinch. Every other non-starter OL on the team terrifies me. Most specifically tackle ... there is no one behind the starters. I've accepted Rick as a project but if he starts as a rookie we are absolutely boned.
2. DT Depth. It's bad, lads.
3. Offensive 3rd downs. We made additions but there are questions at all of them: Watson is 37, Meredith is coming off a serious injury, Smith is a rookie. 3rd down was this team's achilles heel last season (if they could get 1 yard against Minnesota I'm confident we're blinged out with dope rings right now)
4. CB depth. Shon - Crawley - PRob - PJ ....... who else?
5. Safety + LB coverage of TEs and RBs. Was probably biggest D weakness last season, allowed a lot of 3rd down conversions. Is +Davis+Robinson-KV enough to fix this??

i feel very comfortable with our secondary depth so that i think it should naturally drop down the liability issue of health of the secondary.

1. Brees delaying the inevitable as long as possible.

2. OL health or finding quality rotation players to fill in as needed.

3. DL pressure besides Jordan. Rankins is a man now, Okafor/Davenport someone needs to step up.

These to me are the big 3.

Demario was paid to be a player but our LBs were ok last year before all the injuries. He is a plus add IMO.

I worded it a little wrong, but what I meant was even though we have more depth now, health as always is still a key factor in the secondary. In 2016, we had both starting and both 2nd string cornerbacks go down.

I mean if he starts, that means 2 or 3 guys got hurt and we would be screwed anyway.

1. Keeping Brees clean. He will perform well if he has good OL play, regardless of age

2. TE. Can Watson return to former glory? Maybe Fleener has a break out year?

3. WR play not including Michael Thomas. Ginn had a nice season last year, hopefully he doesn't catch the dropsies again like with panthers. Some new faces to break in to the offense.

4. Secondary health. If secondary stays healthy then should be good. Big "if" considering the usual amount of unit injuries.

5. DL Depth. I think our starting DL should be good. Depth concerns me.

O-Line depth is my biggest concern.

Who? This is the team's list of tackles right now:

Terron Armstead
Ryan Ramcyzk
Rick Leonard (R)
Jeromy Irwin (R)
John Theus

That looks to me like: if he starts, 1 guy got hurt. Yikes

This!

I'm hopeful that Tre-Quan's gaudy first down stats are one of the big reasons he was drafted, but we'll see.

Peat would slide over to tackle if 1 guy got hurt IMO.
