Werner and Davenport were bad picks in hindsight.

Werner is good but is apparently injury prone, I thought Ellis played just as good as him this year.. And an UDFA put Davenport on the bench late this season.

Two first rounders and a second that could have been used else where.

Did you mean Davenport and Turner?

Werner has been pretty good here.

Werner was one of the highest rated LBers in the league last season before he got injured. He wasn’t a “bad” pick.

I said he’s good. He’s also been hurt for a significant time every season. I didn’t see a drop off with Ellis and he probably left to be a starter.

Bro missed 2 games rookie year, 5 games 2nd year. The majority of which was an ankle injury, those are defined as freak injuries.

this isn't your torn pec/hamstring, soft tissue, etc. that's a pileup and it can happen to ANY player.

Except this was his first year of ever contributing anything, at all.

Did you ignore him missing most of his rookie year with a knee injury? And last year?

He looked good in the preseason but yiu never know until you get yiur chance when the bullets are flying for real.

I’m just getting a trey Hendrickson vibe from him but at the linebacker position. And he was also taken in the 7th not 2nd. Just sucks to lose a player you develop for years and he goes on to shine for yiur rival.

Werner is a pro bowl caliber LB how was he a bad pick at the end of the 2nd round? Davenport was garbage but was actually really good when he played but his problem was he doesn’t love football. He’s an eccentric personality that is never going to go the extra mile like Cam or Demario.

Werner is a baller.

You're crazy. He doesn't belong in the same sentence as davenport.

He had a legitimate injury. Davenport is just soft and doesn't like football.

Werner is the one run stuffer we have at LB.

Ellis has been hurt more than Werner and has played less and has been on the team longer.

What do you think demario davis is?

Ellis got 3 years and 21 mil. Just can't pay your third linebacker that kind of money.

Ellis is improving but we kept the best two . Davis and Werner def better. We are def eating some of that pushing the salary cap down the road the last few years. We lost some very good defensive players today. Yet we still have Peat

There were multiple times throughout the season when Werner was by far and away our best player on the whole team. I have not a single issue with him, great player!

Davenport didn’t look the same last season to me, but in 2021 he might have been the best player on our defense when he was actually out there.

I’m sure most disagree, but to my eyes, Ellis played better than Werner when he slid into his spot.

The point I’m trying to make that most of you are not getting, is it sucks to lose a player that was already on your roster that performed just as good or better as a player you picked high in the draft.

Problem is you called werner injury prone. He isn't.

Ellis had plenty of chances to step up and take that spot before werner was here. It does suck to lose ellis but he is making 7 mil a year. Starter money.

You are acting like ellis performed like this for 2 years straight and the saints then spent a late 2nd on werner.
