I mean even that’s questionable. They both have pretty weak arms but I’d give the slight edge to Teddy. I think he can put a little more mustard on it than Drew

You should be embarrassed by this post. Seriously. When Drew Brees is ready to play, he plays. Period. This isn’t some scrub past his prime. It’s Drew Goddammed Brees.

Now the Saints have some decisions to make regarding Teddy and his future here, and if the team thinks Teddy is the future then they’d be smart to try to lock him up now. And Drew is a part of that conversation because he’s earned the right to decide when he’s ready to hang it up.

Not great at defending the pass.

Call me crazy, but 1 good game doesn't make you better than the GOAT.

We are talking about Drew Brees, right?

This issue is not before brees comes back. The issue is when brees comes back, if teddy won all the games and then drew loses 2-3 games.

No, the real issue is the offseason.

Bridgewater came back, instead of going to Miami. Why?

Without injury, Brees finishes this season owning every record in the books, has a damn strong team and likely makes another run at the Super Bowl.
That seems like a good point for Brees, Cam Jordan, and Ted Ginn to say "thanks for the memories, we're out". The remaining core is very good with Thomas, Kamara, Lattimore, Davenport, etc; and Bridgewater can step in with 2 years of tutelage under his belt.

But with this injury, who knows if Brees comes back with enough time to set the records? Does he want another year, a clean, injury-free final season?
If so, is Teddy willing to sit ANOTHER year, after getting his feet wet this season?
And remember, they're both free agents. Do you choose the 40 yr old legend over the young guy just coming into his own?

No one with a functioning brain in their head thinks Bridgewater is a better QB than Brees.

Well, it's a business, not a popularity contest.

And BTW, GOAT is tossed around a lot. Brees certainly is in the conversation for alltime great.
So was Joe Montana.
He wasn't ready to hang it up for the 49ers, at the end. But they had Steve Young, who could run the offense and was a decade or so younger.
And Joe WASN'T done; he proved that when he took KC to the playoffs.
Favre was also in that conversation, and he ended his career somewhere other than Green Bay because they had Aaron Rodgers ready to come in.

Now, Teddy isn't Young or Rodgers, but 300 yds and 4 TDs in his 3rd start suggests he can do okay. We don't know what he can do with complete control of a Sean Payton offense tailored to him specifically.

Maybe not now; but again, they are both up for new contracts.

Brees is great, but Father Time is undefeated. Brees is near the end. Teddy on the other hand, can give you 10 yrs barring injury.

The problem is this; you need to groom a replacement. Do you think we get somebody better than Teddy in the next 2 years? If so, it's a no-brainer to keep Brees and let Teddy go. If not, this is gonna be a very tough call to make.

Seriously, this shite pisses me off.

What do y’all think? We’re gonna have some steel curtain defense and win Super Bowls with Teddy?

The team is relevant because we got lucky to sign the GOAT after a catastrophic injury.

Brees will probably be back next season. Some other team will pay Bridgewater a ton of money to be a starter. And, good for him, because it might be the only chance he has at a big-time contract. It would not surprise me in the least if Payton is thinking that he will be able to retain Taysom Hill long-term on a relatively cheap contract because a lot of money will be tied up with Thomas, Kamara, etc.

Teddy is not going to be staying past this season if Brees does not retire. The Dolphins were a crap team, and Teddy knew it. Brees going down is the best thing that could happen because here Teddy is surrounded by a ton of offensive talent and a brilliant offensive-minded coach that will help inflate his value when he hits free agency.

Ex: Bledsoe vs THE GOAT
If Teddy is playing lights out, and the team is winning, why wouldn’t you keep Teddy as your starter. Why take a chance at that point? Breeze wound not be the first starter to lose his position to a younger talented quarterback. It’s not about Drew Breeze, it’s about what’s best for the team.

Except at the point of his injury, Bledsoe hadn't had even a good season in few years. He was an average at best for a few years at that point. Meanwhile Brees is actually elite. You don't replace a guy the caliber of Brees just because Brigewater plays well in a few games. Surprised the stupidity of this comment has gone unnoticed so far.

You people are stupid stupid. Bridgewater is no Brees. Not by a very, very long shot. Terry is just holding down the fort till the real passer get's back. How would you sit down the most prolific passer in NFL history for Bridgewater? You no nothing about football.

The ONLY way that Teddy is better than Drew is if Drew isn’t 100% healthy. If we’re winning and Drew isn’t 100% healthy, you play Teddy.

If Drew is 100% healthy, you play Drew. If we lose some games with Drew, you play Drew.

There is no scenario where if Drew is 100% healthy you play Teddy over Drew. None.

Don't give a shite if Bridgewater wins out in the regular season. You start Brees as soon as healthy. At the end of the day, I trust Brees to overcome any adversity and put me in position to win. Brees' ability to read the defense and throwing accuracy are 2nd to none.
