Gonna be a long season. All those years of neglecting the QB position has caught up with us.

Might win 5-6 games at most this year.

Had Brees 15 years and couldn’t find his replacement smh

We have two QB's

The issue is one is a HB/TE and the other is Jameis Winston

Winston played solid. Considering he was throwing to nobody’s. Brees has missed time the last two seasons and we still had no issue winning. Quarterback play won’t be what prevents us from making the playoffs. The injuries/suspensions most likely will be though.

I liked Winstons performance. Zip on the ball, which haven’t seen in years. The 80 yard drive for the TD was a very impressive drive.

Ian Book will be a good QB in the future. Doesn’t have a big arm but he looked the most poised out there

Winston still made bad throws, like the one that was picked. But that's what you get with him, amazing plays and rookie type plays every game. He's the same QB he was in Tampa

I didn’t see anything last night that I wasn’t already aware of. My concern is just that neither of these guys has an it factor. I feel like the good QBs have the ability to make things happen when everything else around them falls apart. I have never seen that in either of these guys. I wish them the best and I think the Saints may be a playoff team with them, but IMO they aren’t nearly good enough for us to make a run.

I would love to come eat crow in February but I just don’t see it.

How very tard of you to draw such damming conclusions from such little action. Keep up the good work.

Winston looked to get better as the game went on. Hill’s best series was his first. I don’t know if you can take too much away from that but that’s what I saw.

We have two. Hill has the stronger arm; easily seen on the out routes. The ball gets there much faster & harder. Think it is natural in preseason for the QB to try to force one or two trying to make a play, especially when there is a QB competition.
The RB fumble inside the 10 stopped what looked like a TD drive that would have been the difference in a W & L.
I expect Winston to get the next start with the first string to keep this QB battle level. Winston not done yet.
The better QB competition may be in Denver with Teddy & Lock.:-)

Did I miss something?
Taysom looked good, Jameis started bad but got better.
Our line looked good for having our tackles not starting.
TJJ looked good.
Murray sucked.
Defense looked great.

Hill showed nothing. He is a better gadget player. Book is not the answer yet. Winston will beva .500 QB. This is it. Back to 2007 and 2008 season.

They are going to rely more on the run this year. Both QBs are turnover machines. The Hill experiment is a disaster. Has been before Brees got hurt and retired. How on earth did the Saints pay him all that money?

They didn't play like MVPs, but I thought Taysom and Jameis both played well. They both had a few bad throws, but I saw more positive than negative honestly.

Hmm not the game I saw. I saw one bad throw. I saw a drop and a guy stop his route too. I did see Hill, under pressure, toss a nice pass to the outside for a completion that was no small thing. I dont trust Winston but he didn’t took bad either.

Guys are crazy I saw Jamies go for an 80 drive with 6 or 7 practice squad players. Give me a break can Payton let the man play with at least a decent line in front of him. We already know our wide-out wouldn’t start at LSU.
Whoever starts at QB is going to struggle because our receivers will either run a wrong route, won’t get separation, or drop the ball. That position is the weakest on the field.

I was changing my mind about Hill on that first drive. His passes were accurate, that long 3rd down completion he threw on the run was an absolute dime. Then Murray fumbled and it was a turnover show the rest of the game.

Absolutely that and the 5 other turnovers.
