How do you guys measure his Legacy as a Saint?

Sure seems like his last carry for now

Best RB in Saints history by stats.
Huge piece of us winning in 17/18.
Highly.

was a Heisman winner.
I was expecting big things from him.

I think his legacy will be viewed slightly differentially once we're a few years removed from last season.

I blame the staff for Ingram being on the field for what has been a prototypical Alvin Kamara bread-and-butter play since he was drafted. Play action rollout, hit the RB in the flat and let him take it up the field.
Mark Ingram had 5 targets that game, Kamara just 2.
It's inexcusable and a large part of why I feel the way I do about the upcoming season. I don't think anyone on our offense is able to transcend the shitty coaching and scheming.

I could have sworn he had a carry after that despite the injury excuse.

He had the best career as a running back as a Saint. What should that mean for his legacy?
Of course, fans are not rational when talking about these things, especially when discussing recent players.

He did make me laugh. Laughter can be the best medicine.

Wish he would’ve retired after the 2021 season

That he never lived up to what we paid for by drafting him. His last carry was a pretty fitting end.

That play was his last chance to single-handedly secure a playoff berth. But no...

Are you aware that Payton admitted that he under utilized Ingram early in his career both in the running and passing game? He said it was partly due to the success of the short passing game and partly his own stubbornness. Ingram for most of his career was dependable, durable, carried a 4.5 ypc avg. and was one of the best pass blocking backs in the NFL.

Wasn’t Ingram the cause of an ACL tear of a big time free agent linebacker or DE years ago at training camp?
His name escapes me.

That play was horrible but the slant to Marquez Callaway in a 1 receiver set on on the following play was maybe the absolute worst call I have ever seen.

We share the same feelings. I bitched all year about how they took Kamara off the field on 3rd downs last season. All the freaking time. I think the roster is better, I think the division is worse, but we still have the same stooges in charge which limits our ceiling.

I think he was involved in two separate injuries to teammates both unintentional. I can't remember either players names. Was a long time ago. I wish I could find the pass block Ingram laid on an opponent several years back. Took him off his feet and sent his arse flying. Hang on. Here we go.

That was Donte Fowler that he put into orbit.
