This is from the twitter feed of Deuce Windham, who does a really great job of analyzing the Saints. Its a 3rd and 7 - look at the middle of the field.

Saw something very similar in the Green Bay game where there were receivers on the outside running similar routes close to one another.

I think Vilma was suggesting that maybe someone ran the wrong route.

But now here is more of the same. Just an awful play design.

With the weapons on offense, how they simply cannot scheme to open an advantage is inexcusable. I doubt if Allen is canned before the end of the year, but you have to put someone else in charge of calling the offensive plays. I never thought we would see an offense worse than the Ditka years, but here we are.

That’s inexcusable. People who blame carr need to see more of this. There’s no reason with all the weapons on this roster we make life so hard on ourselves offensively.

Conceptually correct in general as well

If they want to succeed in the postseason, playing for this regime is the wrong route.

Our head coach is a proven loser and our OC has never been able to do anything on his own. It's the blind leading the blind and unfortunately, even with all our talent, they still can't formulate a plan that looks anything close to competent.

I'm sure the route tree calls for Kamara to leak out over the middle, but he's forced to stay in and block because - once again - there's an o-lineman standing around touching no one

That's a good observation. The whole offense just stinks.

Pete can’t put together effective route trees? Here’s my shocked face.

That looks like man-2 where we kept 5 back in protection (ie, our "middle of the field option"). Also, 2 of those receivers are breaking in, going to the middle.

I just don't think this play says what the Tweet is trying to imply.

What it looks like is either an inability from Carr to read the man presnap and make the correct call or Carmichael doesn't have a manbeater, which is actually beyond comprehension. I'm going to go with Carr misread the D and didn't make the right call.

If I were an NFL coach and saw this defense, I would probably run my TE on a seam route to exploit this. Does Juwan Johnson even exist anymore?

Even with the two breaking in, the route takes too much time for them to get into the open area. If the defense is giving you a giant open area of the field, you should be attacking it instead of taking forever to get to it. That’s bad offensive scheming.

Tried to play through a calf injury, dressed for the game, and may have come in for 1 play before leaving the field. Jimmy should have been eating here, because you know he's not blocking.

The tweet says they converted, so something must have gone right here. Either way, if the expectation was for him to get the ball out before now, his only option was to catch MT13 coming across the middle, and most likely getting tackled short of the 1st.

Saints converted 2 3rd & 7s on the day. 1 was to Shaheed who I don't see on the picture (but can't tell who that is at the top on the 30), and the other was to AK who must have engaged the LBer then leaked out into the flat.
