I get your sentiment, but if they cut him they would have to cut a few other players because the cap hit would sky rocket us over the cap. I also don't think they should just cut him based on the video(s) that are surfacing; we have seen how these videos often get edited and leave out important details. IMO, the only thing that should be punishable are the 2 punches he threw at the end.

I'll clarify that last sentence with if this were his only incident. He will be suspended (and should)because of the fact that he continues to have these sort of situations following him. This is now the 4th story this offseason (even though this was 2 years ago) that somewhat involves him.

good point. men can beat women, but ONLY with weapons that are not hard objects and as long as they don't beat them down.

you have stellar character, dear fellow. I do hope you have a daughter and she gets stuck in a relationship with a boyfriend/husband that beats her with everything except his knuckles or a bat. Maybe he can catch her in the face with an electric cord and leave a beautiful scar across her nose and eye. Hell, maybe she can even lose an eye! Then he can slap her repeatedly, because flesh is not "hard" or a "fist.

These things I do wish upon you and your family

damn, and per Goodell policy it is much worse to abuse a woman on film so he's pretty much fricked now.

problem is going to be the date the incident took place. This took place before new code of conduct policy, not sure how its going to play out but the saints are going to be done with him i bet.

Only when the media and public scrutiny demands harsh penalties. Without that, RG doesn't' really seem to care too much.

The Hardy appeal should give us an idea. They are appealing the fact that he is being punished for something the league knew about and took place prior to the current rules. So, if he's successful I think he only gets 1 game for this off field issue.

The only time I've seen a team get guaranteed money back from a player in trouble is the Vick situation

Miami was also successful with this and Rickey Williams. Although, they settled for RW coming back and finishing out his contract.

Dude hits dude with a belt twice = pussy that can't fight

Chick hits dude with a belt twice = crazy bitch but no one finds it bad

Chick hits chick with a belt twice = typical cat fight

Dude hits chick with a belt twice = worse piece of shite in the world and he should be put to death

This was a brawl. It wasn't someone beating their wife/girlfriend for no reason. She went up to him during the fight and he tried to get her back. The situations are nothing alike.

But thanks for the well wishes.

From what I saw last night on 4th down on 4, if JG signed his agreement with knowledge of what happened (which he did) his contract can be voided for conduct detrimental to the team. The guaranteed money is only for injury or performance. I think it's very telling that this video got released just a few days before his meeting with the NFL.

I can't imagine the NFLPA uses this as an excuse

The guy who was talking about it was an attorney so I believe him.

The attorney also went on to say that the NFLPA would absolutely file a grievance because they want to weaken Goodell's power (Like they have in every other issue), any chance they get. However, there has been a pattern of behavior and conduct detrimental to the team seems very reasonable.

He didn't think that this is something that is going to go away anytime soon.

Wow this is alot of vitriol. You do realize that there is a difference between a man beating his girlfriend, as you so graphically described above and a man defending himself against an out of control mob which happens to include some females? He didn't chase this woman down to beat her; he was swinging it at anyone that came near him (which she did).
