He’s a solid fill in for Ingram for the first four weeks, nothing more, nothing less

Wasn't Terrance West a mentor to Darius Victor? I figured he'd get a shot somewhere else, looks like the Cardinals waived him. Bummer.

oh no please stop you're killing me really stop ouch

Seriously though if you value West higher than any of the other backs fighting for a RB3 spot you're delusional. Hopefully he can provide some depth for a few games but there's nothing special about him. I have higher hopes for Scott.

He’s not a world beater, but I’m glad we did our due diligence and looked at multiple backs and picked our favorite. If he’s not better than Williams/Edumonds/Scott than he won’t be on the 53. Plain and simple

Also, wtf does Murray think he is? Who even wants a back who doesn't want to compete for the job?

He is playing the odds. Chances of 32 starting caliber RBs making it through the season unscathed is virtually impossible.

When demand goes up, so does the price and the role associated with it. He obviously knows after week 4 he would ride the bench and be nothing more than an injury call up.

Or maybe he is a prima donna and felt insulted that we were working out like 4-5 running backs and he wasn't promised an offer.

Regardless frick Demarco. I am happy with bringing West to camp and seeing who wins the powerback role between Williams, West, and Edmunds.

At least now we have a true measure to gauge Williams and Edmunds by via direct competition.

Also as if it needs to be stated this will be the best offense West has ever played in and behind the best OL he has ever seen. Sean is also arguably the best OC in the NFL when it comes to putting skill players in position to succeed.

He's not extremely talented or anything, but he can do everything. He'll be a solid player in this offense if he gets good blocking (which we should have).

He's basically a poor man's Mark Ingram & he should be veteran league minimum (or close to it). We shouldn't have to change our offense at all if he's the guy that replaces Ingram's touches.

He still has to beat out 4 young RB's, but I think it's actually a really good signing. Imo, he was easily the best available RB that you could get for cheap.

Also, I think some of these vet RB's are looking for some guaranteed carries for the year. We can really only offer a chance to compete for the 1st 4 weeks of the season (not even a guarantee). I think a chance to prove himself is all West wanted. He can even earn himself some PT after Ingram returns. It probably won't be very much PT, but a legit #3 RB (which we didn't have last year) would probably get a few snaps.

Terrance West - Proven vet. Not physically/athletically impressive, but he can easily do everything if he gets good blocking.
Daniel Lasco - Special teams coverage. Has yet to prove anything as a RB.
Trey Edmunds - Special teams coverage. Has yet to prove anything as a RB.
Jonathan Williams - He doesn't play special teams. Has a chance to prove himself as a RB.
Boston Scott - Returner on special teams. Has a chance to prove himself as a RB.

I think West, Jonathan Williams, & Boston Scott have the best chance to be the #2 RB for weeks 1-4. If I had to put money on it (without seeing them run yet in the pre-season)...I'd probably go with West, b/c he has the least question marks & still only 27 years old. He might not even hit the RB wall (a wall that most RB's eventually hit at an early age) for another 2-3 years. Hopefully we can get at least 1 year out of him before the inevitable happens.

West has only been in the league for 4 years (this is his 5th). He's had 2 pretty solid years, & 2 years of being banged up. This is basically about the best you're going to get for around veteran league minimum...you just hope that 2018 is a year that he's healthy.

2014 (Browns) - 171 carries, 673 yards, 3.9 avg, 4 TD, 1 lost fumble. 11 catches, 64 yards, 1 TD.
2015 (Ravens) - 62 carries, 231 yards, 3.7 avg, 0 TD, 2 lost fumbles. 4 catches, 21 yards, 0 TD.
2016 (Ravens) - 193 carries, 774 yards, 4.0 avg, 5 TD, 0 lost fumbles. 34 catches, 236 yards, 1 TD.
2017 (Ravens) - 39 carries, 138 yards, 3.5 avg, 2 TD, 1 lost fumble. 2 catches, 23 yards, 0 TD.

As long as our line is healthy I trust Hellen Keller to run behind it for 4 yards a carry.

It's night vs Day.

Cleveland & Baltimore are easily top 10 bottom offenses. Maybe even top 5.
