Full article requires membership. TL;DR the team will likely go with Allen and try to use this D to win a ship, it will just be harder to attract a star QB and drafts must be nails.

We riding baws

Loomis doesn’t do rebuilds. We spent 40 years complaining about cheap owners and GMs, now we bitch about Loomis stretching the cap

We need a nail a RB in the draft and find a game manager for QB. This defense can win. Another WR is a priority as well.

Needed a paywall for that analysis.

What's the plan if we miss on Winston?

The paywall is to support the best beat writer in New Orleans who is independent....easiest money I ever spent

Nick had Sean's retirement news before any national media

Division still up for grabs. Tenured Offensive and defensive coaches still in tact Top 5 defense, solid OL. Full slate of picks and comp picks. You’re a QB and another WR away from a double digit win season.

Any chance Pickett or Corral will be available to us in the draft at #18?

We almost scratched out a double digit win season with the depleted roster we had. We do need another WR. I think we could make it to the playoffs with Winston but I don't see him as the eventual franchise Q.B. We may be hard pressed to get a Wilson with Payton's exit.

If we are rolling with DA, you try to grab an established QB from a team with a new coach. Shoot for Wilson still, but you could wind up with Carr, Daniel Jones, Nick Foles or Kirk Cousins

QB is in the house give him some weapons and a healthy OLine and it’s on. Hill is a capable backup also. Feel much better about Hill after watching him win some games with no wideouts to speak of and a mash unit offensive line.

I don’t see why you’d absolutely WANT to either.

Healthy Jameis and Thomas added to this team is enough to contend for the South IMO. Go draft a young WR, he’ll get another one in FA too, maybe another RB, and let’s ride.

If Dennis Allen is the guy, they need to impress upon him that the condition/expectation is that the D doesn’t skip a beat.

From there, get a strong OC and let it roll.

I’m curious why OP says getting a QB will be a challenge (in the context of not rebuilding). There are more than a few who I think will be an upgrade.
